Dr. Brannon R Frank, MD

The staff assured me before the appointment that they'd get my x-rays from my other physician. The Direct Orthopedic Care staff dropped the ball here, but still charged me to take another set of x-rays. Afterward, they kept me waiting an hour before I finally saw Dr. Frank. We looked at the x-rays together and he admitted he'd "never seen" the issue I had before, but had read about it. Then he suggested two alternatives: physical therapy, or prodding me with needles and burning off nerve tissue in a "guess-and-check" style approach. He declined my request for an MRI, which is a far less invasive procedure. I chose to go with their in-house physical therapy. Their therapist (Dr. Yohe) screwed up my back even more than it was before, performing an "adjustment" without my consent, which (as I later read) is a barbaric, unscientific, dangerous practice that can paralyze patients for life. I highly discourage anyone from coming to Direct Orthopedic Care, nor to any of the medical… professionals who work there.

Dr Frank is one of the most knowledgeable pain mgt. Drs. Around he is trustworthy and will take ur pain away without opioids. I trust him with my life. And believe.me I have lived with lots of pain for years . Lots of surgeries and Dr. Frank has been my savior. Trust and love this Dr.

Dr. Frank’s in-house pharmacy made a mistake cross referencing me with another patient. I was called into his office a had my pain medications immediately discontinued, no withdrawal plan, nothing. No apology, or sorry about that. I would not go back to his office if he was the last pain doctor in central Texas.

I'm shocked that I read a single bad review about Dr. Frank. I saw him yesterday for the first time and I found him to be a really wonderful and caring doctor. Yes, the wait time was long to see him, but I appreciated why. Unlike most doctors, he really spends time with his patients. He listened to my concerns, and he spent as much time as was necessary to make a proper diagnosis. And I believe he really works with people as individuals. He seemed genuinely interested in my long term goals, and assessed my situation accordingly. And instead of looking at me as someone he could make money on, he was honest in telling me he felt I would be better seeing another doctor whose specialty would be more helpful to me in the long run. I've very grateful for the new hope he has given me.

I have severe RA and I am in a severe flare up. He stopped all pain meds. I was curled up on his table crying and he told me I need to see a therapist. It's all in my head. I need to learn to live with the pain. And the pains meds just don't work for me. I had gastric bypass and so extended release meds don't last for 12 hours. Oh and when I told him this isn't fair for my kids. He said I need to reach them life isn't fair. He is a cold man!

This was absolutely without a doubt the worst visit to a doctor. Not only did I have to wait a month to get an appointment but waited 3 hours to see the man. He walks in and talks for 10 minutes would not allow me to speak gives me an anti-inflammatory that my dogs take. I have scoliosis,2 injured knees and I almost broke my hip.I am almost 60yrs old. I felt discriminated against by him and elderly abused. He was dressed in dirty scrubs had on old nasty sandals and his feet were dirty. Then he said he wanted to see me in a month but not by him buy a PA or nurse practitioner. I walked out of there in tears in shock and anger I have never been treated with such disrespect and humiliation belittled what a horrible horrible man

I get a Certified letter today from Dr. Brannon stating that it would be best if I continue my pain management treatment with another physician. The same day I had my appointment and kept it. I was on the phone a hour later and I complained about how this physicians treatment and that I would never be back. Basically I fired him. Anyway, these reviews really help and I have learned to review and word of mouth before seeing doctors. I have good experiences with doctors and this has been my first negative one.

Worst doctor experience I have EVER had. I have a crushed right foot that has been operated on several times in the past year and a half. This man (doctor) walks in and starts running his mouth and asks me all these questions and I answer them to the best of my ability. Doctors that has done nerve blocks, etc. I honestly don't remember every name and he telling me one doctors name and I told him no that's not him and he is almost arguing with me. I go in with a high level of pain. He says pain management doesn't work for you. Guess what folks? It worked before and I'm open to new types of procedures. I didn't understand that he wasn't going to give me anything for the pain that day until I could make it to the other appointments that he wanted me to attend. Just something to make it through a week or so. His comment was "You didn't hear what I just said, no medication". Then he had the nerve to say are you going to leave now. I sat there for 20 minutes after he left waiting… for all the paperwork he was going to give me for something that would take 4 hours. IV treatment, he didn't explain it to me. Then he wanted me to take a behavioral class. I want a doctor who cares. Who is sensitive to my pain, not a hyper person. I have read posts and it's amazing how this individual has patients. I wish I would have read these reviews before I made the appointment. He might have a license, but he is not a true doctor. Most doctors have compassion. He lacks that and that is why I would never recommend such an insensitive individual as him. I was very professional while I was there and listened as he spoke down to me. I heard that someone said he has a God complex. I tried to get him to refer me to another doctor at this office and he would not allow it. I'm a 57 year old women and this is the first time I have every experience pain due to a car accident. I'm thankful that my primary doctor listened to me after I told him about this experience. No one should have to go through what I did especially when it is valid. I need to get over my anger towards this incident. He was hyper and when I told him what was going on, it was like he didn't understand. I just got more and more confused as the short visit when the on. I can't call him a doctor, because he did not exhibit doctor professionalism. I went in for help and left in tears and frustrated. Time heals all.

I'll begin by saying that I suffer from rheumatoid arthritis (as well other chronic illnesses that cause pain and discomfort) and I have Dr. Frank to thank for giving me my life back. I only first began seeing him in the last week or so and after a long discussion where he educated me fully on ALL my options, as well as the potential risks of other routes we could try, he listened to everything I had to say about what worked for me and I went with his pain management plan and trusted his medication/treatment ideas 100%. Within a day of beginning his medication-management treatment plan to treat my severe pain around-the-clock, I no longer need to take oral pain medications through the day anymore. I had been living my life with a pain level of 6.5-8 all the time, day and night. I went from having to depend on pills every few hours just to keep my pain at non-excruciating levels to a place where I am in practically NO pain throughout each moment of the day/night PILL FREE. All within… the first couple days of his treatment plan! I was so shocked and so thankful, I made a point of calling the office to thank him. I am eternally grateful, and plan to see Dr. Frank and continue this treatment plan for the rest of my life. Before, knowing that my illnesses--which cause so much unrelenting physical discomfort--were incurable used to cause me serious depression. All that depression is now gone; erased along with the constant pain. To anyone out there suffering from severe chronic pain (whatever the cause) see Dr. Frank above anyone else. He'll do everything he can to see you as quickly as possible, listen to everything you have to say, trust that YOU know your body and what's helped it (any chronic pain sufferer knows how hard that is to come by in a physician) and I can personally guarantee that he will get you your life back. Thank you, Dr. Frank for stopping my suffering and giving me my life back. I am forever indebted to you.

I read coments from previous years and all I can say is, who did you all see. I had to wait 3 hours. The staff didn't even bother to tell me that he was running late. The Doctor Frank I meet with was very condescending with a God complex. He was rude,insensitive and and impatient. He told me that he only sees his patients on the first visit or he wouldn't get a chance to get new patients. Dr. Frank stated the rest of my visits will be with his PA. The PA had no knowledge of my diagnosis. She told me my other specialist had given me the wrong information. I asked her how can that be when 4 other specialist gave me the same information. NEVER GOING BACK!!!!
