Dr. Braulio J. Flores, MD

This comment is not about me, but my mom. She has been his patient for more than a year. He did many blood tests saying that she had high cholesterol. My mom a few days ago was feeling really bad. She got nausea, vertigo, dizziness, and ringing ear. We thought that it was “high cholesterol” but all the symptoms connect to “maniere’s disease”. Yesterday, she had an appointment with Dr. Flores, she asked him about the maniere’s symptoms. He said that maybe she has that. Again, he did blood tests and I’m here asking why more blood tests? Why don’t you send her to a doctor who specializes in the ear (otolaryngologists)? I’m reading comments that Dr. Flores treats the whole body. Well, I don’t think so. Instead of doing that, he asked my mom how she sleeps. Then, he sent to her a pill to “sleep” that is how he calls to anti-depressants. I can’t believe what he did, he never told her what was the real name of her prescription. I think this situation was very unprofessional. I will be… calling this morning to speak to him about this issue. I understand the antidepressants (e.g. Prozac) helped a lot people when it came out but you can’t expect to solve your problems just taking drugs. If that will be the case, the problem with depression will be declining.

Overall he is a very great and intelligent doctor. He knows how to treat his patients and informs them with options of how to take the best care of their health. He seems very nice and compassionate like my old doctor Mona Kennedy. They are both 5 star, gifted doctors who know what they are doing. They are not mean at all and won't door- slam you with an attitude problem. We need more empathic doctors like these two.

I chose Dr. Flores as my new doctor based on online research. My experience with him was poor. I called once when I had been very ill overnight and he never returned my call. It took a month and 3 calls to get him to call back with test results and when he did it was clear that he barely knew who I was and did not have my information in front of him.
