Dr. Brenda Garrett Ellis, MD

Dr. Ellis has been my family doctor for nearly 15 yrs and I would not see anyone else. She helped me quit smoking cigarettes after 33 yrs. and it's been 7 yrs. now! Dr. Ellis has helped me lose nearly 50 pounds as well . She has helped me with numerous medical conditions and continues to help to this day. She listens to all my cares and concerns,and her staff is second to none! Dr. Ellis is very wise in all areas of medicine and she is compassionate and understanding.

Dr Ellis is a ok provider, but her staff at the front desk is very ghetto and acts like trailer trash. Dr Ellis will definitely miss out on a lot money because she will not address the bad service at front desk. The worst services. Horrible services!!!!!!!

I have had doctors that beat around the bush with getting things done (i.e tests, test results, care of plan and etc.) but not Dr. Ellis. She is firm with me and making sure that there is a bullet-proof plan that works to my lifestyle. She has been with me through my ups and downs in a shortly time frame and has such a positive outcome because she encourages me to be and do my best, even though I doubted myself. Dr. Ellis is not only a GREAT doctor but a good listener. Stern yet so positive way of dealing with her patients draws you in more! DR. Staff is horrible, unprofessional, and unwelcoming. My very first visit i walk into the office to the desk the receptionist looks me in my eyes & says nothing to me but continues to hold a conversation. I have no idea what i’m supposed to do being my first time so i just stand there. after a while she tel me to sign my name & have a seat. i can see the names of at least 4 people that had appointments that day (HIPPA VIOLATION) there are only 2 other people in the office. after sitting there for almost an hours and no one coming in or out of the rooms i ask one of he lady’s there how long she’s been sitting she said over an hr & a half. the other lady mentioned she got in just before i did and had only been waiting for paperwork. about 20-25 min after our interaction i get called to the back. my daughter & i had appointments at the same time. when i came to my daughter (who is 5) the doctor kept asking me questions even AFTER i told her that my daughter can speak for herself for what… she was asking. then the doctor argues with me when i couldn’t give her an exact date of the last. time she had been to a doctor. my daughter only goes when it’s time for her because she doesn’t have any issues so i couldn’t remember. But when i offered to call her old doctors office (back in New Jersey) she tells me “i don’t want you on the phone in the middle of the appointment” so i just told her when she gets her records she can see. because of that she the seems to insinuate that my daughter isn’t up to date with her shots after i told her she was only missing the one required for 5 year olds. horrible experience. when it came to me i had a few issues that were addressed poorly. she prescribed me prednisone even though i told her i was allergic. she gave me paperwork to have a mammogram done that wasn’t filled out properly and the office i needed to go to had to call to get a new one with the correct information filled out. her office NEVER called me to let me know that it had been done. i had to wait for the other office to call me saying they were wondering if i still wanted it done. flash forward at my mammogram the doctor determines she needs an ultrasound ordered so they can look deeper into my issue and guess what the doctors off is closed. on a weekday. during the day. so i never got to get my ultrasound. i get a call a few days later for the office staff telling me that i missed 2 previous app and they wanted me to come in to review my mammogram. they never called to remind me of ANY OF MY APPOINTMENTS. the most recent was just Monday & i thought it was Tuesday. thinking they would call to remind me of my app like any other respected doctors office but NOPE NOT AT ALL !! never again. i don’t know how she is in business. just all around horrible. from the location. the staff. the office environment. the lack of professionalism from staff as well as the doctor. NEVER AGAIN and i don’t recommend anyone going here

Doctor Ellis is one of the most unprofessional, lazy, incompetent doctors I have ever encountered. I would advise you to avoid seeing her unless you are looking for inadequate healthcare.

At 21, I was searching for a primary doctor to see for the first time since I was 13. I was seeking help regarding getting back on meds after years of not being prescribed any. (I had been diagnosed with depression and anxiety before). I got an appointment within a week of my first call asking if they were accepting new patients. The receptionist I spoke with was polite, informative, and accommodating. At my appointment, I had to explain why my previous records had been lost and Dr. Ellis wrote down all of the information I could provide her from memory. I told her that recently, my depression and anxiety were affecting my work. I couldn't finish tasks on time, couldn't meet my deadlines, and felt like I was spreading myself among a dozen projects but never finishing any to my full potential. This was a new issue for me because my work was never affected like that before. She asked if I had endured any traumatic experiences that may have triggered it and if this has happened before… in any other areas of my life such as school, personal, social, etc. We discussed it thoroughly for an extended period of time; she did not make me feel rushed or like I was holding her back from other things she needed to do. She diagnosed me with ADD by the end of that appointment and said that my depression/anxiety very well could be stemmed from that, and that's why the meds I was on before were never effective. She prescribed me a mild anti-depressant that I ended up quitting shortly, as well as medication for ADD. I've been on it for a year and a half and my entire quality of life has done a 180. I go in every month to get a refill and check ups every three months. The entire staff is very personable, asks about your personal life and remembers the next time you see them. So friendly and accommodating to each patient. The only issue, and I wouldn't even categorize it as an issue, is that there are (rare) times in which the wait can be a little longer than usual, but that's also because Dr. Ellis spends quality one-on-one time with her patients and I never mind waiting an extra twenty minutes longer than usual when I know that she's just helping another patient the same way she helped me.
