Brenda Reiss-Brennan, NP

Brenda Reiss-Brennan is a psychiatric nurse practitioner and medical anthropologist at Intermountain Health's Bountiful Clinic in Bountiful, Utah. She has worked in primary care for more than 35 years. She identifies and treats the mental health conditions most commonly seen in a primary care setting, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, sleep concerns, chronic pain, substance use, and co-occurring medical conditions, and she works with patients on building healthy behaviors.

As a principal investigator, Dr. Reiss-Brennan leads Intermountain Health's adoption and evaluation of Mental Health Integration (MHI), a team-based model that brings mental health care into the primary care setting. The approach has spread to more than 90 Intermountain clinics — including rural clinics and those serving uninsured patients — as well as 45 community clinics across the country. She holds a longstanding faculty appointment at the University of Utah College of …Nursing and consults locally, nationally, and internationally on improving population health through integrated care.
