I wish I had taken the other poor reviews on this site more seriously. They are exactly my experience with this doctor - she was rude, pushy, and condescending. Payment up front in cash?? Super weird. Please stay away.

Pitiful

. I would not recommend Dr. Brenda Sinsheimer. I found her to be dishoveled and not very personable from the first session but was commited to seeking help. She continued to be dishoveled at every visit. During my 4th session I expressed my discomfort and hesitation with taking medication. I explained it was new for me and I felt concerned that since my first visit I kept getting prescribed a different dose. Instead of actually listening, being patient and understanding she started to chastise my thought process. When I explained that I felt attacked and was just expressing what I felt she continued to say she did not undertsand what I felt then told me I did not have to make a follow up appointment. I thought that was completely unprofessional. She had no concern and didn't even feel like it was necessary to tell me what to do with the meds I was now prescribed and had been taking for 2 months. When I asked she told me I could just stop taking it. It was scary to know someone who I… was going to for help can just lose her cool and tell me I don't have to come back. If you're looking for someone who has good listening skills, shows up organized and prepared, is compassionate, & professional I would highly recommend not wasting your time with Dr. Brenda Sinsheimer. I wish I would have "not made follow up appointment" after my first appointment. In addition to this review I encourage you to look at her reviews on Yelp.com I did not do this prior to going to her. However, when I did look I realized her professionalism is a pattern that many of her pts have unfortunately experienced. It's a shame that patients leave her office upset.

A lot about this experience was unprofessional, rude, uncomfortable, and unkind.....I attended two sessions with Dr. Sinsheimer and on both occasions I felt that my history and symptoms were belittled and challenged. She demanded payment up front along with a printout of benefit information from your insurer's website. Now, I understand this is a business, but I have never been to a mental health practice where I was demanded to pay before receiving services. Provide insurance card and fill out consent form first, yes, but not payment. I did these things as requested, but my printout was promptly thrusted back at me along with the statement "this means nothing to me. Call them." She refused to discuss my condition with me until an insurance agent would tell her my deductible information, and was incredibly rude to the agent while on the phone. I sat there feeling scolded and uncomfortable while the agent read off the exact information I had tried to hand her five minutes prior. I… felt that she steamrolled over my concerns about my health, symptoms, and treatment. When it came to medication, I expressed concern over documented side effects regarding the drug she had chosen, and she responded with frustration and belittlement. She said "I think you should take [drug] but you don't know WHY you don't want to" even though I had just explained why, and explained that I was uncomfortable with it and concerned. She spoke to me as if I was a foolish child for having my concerns. She tried to convince me the clinical trials were not accurate in portraying the medications I expressed interest in. I'm okay with being wrong about information, but this woman was not open to my input on my own condition, which I've been medicated for twice previously and have been managing for 7 years. She had known me for two days. I did not feel respected, heard, or cared for in any way. The second visit ended with me telling her I would be continuing elsewhere. If you are struggling emotionally, I recommend you seek treatment elsewhere with someone who will be considerate of your autonomy in your care plan.

She got me off of a bad medicine and put me on better medicine. I feel much more like myself.

This woman is a disgusting person and actually made my wife cry. My wife went for an initial consultation and left in tears. The doctor was unbelievably rude and disrespectful. She did not offer any assistance or prescriptions to my wife but was more than happy to accept payment in the BEGINNING of the session. When I called to complain she simply hung up on me. I warn all people to stay away from this doctor. She is wholly unprofessional and should not be practicing medicine of any kind.

Dr. Sinsheimer has helped me tremendously. When I first started seeing her, I was an anxious and depressed mess (what a combo). She is very patient and understanding and knowledgeable. I have really seen improvements in the way I see and approach the world and myself. I am truly a different, happier person than when I first walked into her office.

Very good listener and really helped me with feedback. I was able to do something I wanted with her help and support. Very caring person. I can be myself and I feel comfortable talking about all kinds of things with this doctor. She has helped me a lot. Not judgemental.
