Dr. Brent Duane Matthews, MD

PLEASE STAY AWAY !! He lets his intern or residents under him do the surgery while the patient signed the consent on his name. And mind you his resident is very irresponsible who does WRONG surgeries ( you can go and ask as he did for many patients) as he simply experiments on the patients. His resident will cut you open without any need or cut open a tumor to spill it or just do about anything and is so shameless that he doesn’t even meet before or after doing surgery. This doctor should be sued for his carelessness.

Ruined me and put me in terrible pain

He performed Nissen Fundoplication surgery on me. I could not get any sleep due to coughing all night, and I kept losing my voice. Medications did not work so I sought out Dr. Matthews. I had this surgery 6 years ago. Best thing I ever did. It gave me my life back.

The most painfull experiance of my life.numerious clips were left in my abdomen have moved causing bad pain & surgey to repair what damage wss done. moved out of state & left no one to fix his shotty work. God help me

Dr. Matthews seems very intelligent and competent. However, his office NEVER returns calls (see other reviews, other sites) resulting in almost criminally negligent medicine. When you are a patient on extreme medical protocol counting the days until treatment and enduring pain, uncertainty, and other difficulties I would hope that the staff would be compassionate enough to return a call.

Not very good office staff. They never return phone calls and follow up is virtually not there. It's sad because I am sure Dr.Matthews is a talented ,skilled, surgeon. Your only as good as your support staff. I might add that the level of congeniality is zero at best.

Dr. Matthews is an excellent surgeon. He explains the surgery to you and is more than welcome to answer questions. He takes his time to see that all is done right. His follow up care is outstanding.
