Dr. Brent David Nelson, MD

I was at St Luke's hospital as an advocate to my daughter of whom was recently a patient there. That day she had a procedure and after I was called back to her recovery room Dr. Nelson popped in and began to tell me how the procedure went. He’d tell me things and I’d ask questions. At one point I asked, “who is her doctor?” He responded, “why are you asking these questions?” I was taken aback from such a ridiculous response. I said, “that’s what I do.” I said that it was a simple yes or no question and that I didn’t understand why he was getting defensive. His voice was rising and he woke my daughter up. It's my understanding that this is typical behavior for this radiologist. With his anger/annoyance issues and his complaint of such a busy schedule (as if that should have excused his behavior)... I think Nelson should be put on administrative leave until he can get his emotions under control before it affects his work if it isn’t already and learn how to treat other people with… the respect that I’m sure he expects. He did not have my respect and I hope to never have the displeasure of meeting that individual again.

I was disappointed with the follow-up I did not receive. I needed some follow up advise for my side effects, No answer. I have been bleeding for a month after my procedure. No help for a doctors note for work. I needed 1 excuse from work because I was bleeding so bad and cramping, He said no, contact your OBGYN. However, she did not do the UAE he did. I'm just sad.I have had no support after this scary procedure and I have never had a call asking how I was doing. Take your money and run, That's how I felt. I will just have my OBGYN do an ultra sound in 6 months to see if my fibroids have reduced in size. Keep in mind that St. Lukes did an outstanding job.

I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Nelson. He is very good. His technique is confident and sure. He is kind. I have worked with many doctors. If I needed an interventional procedure done, he is the one I would go to.
