After having several surgeries with ortho doctors,with horrible results. A co-worker said his wife had Dr. Abshire and he helped her. I then went to see him and he was able to help me. He is incredible and I highly recommend him and his staff.

Dr. Abshire is an amazing surgeon. He cares deeply for his patients. My husband who is in his 30's was suffering from back and buttock pain and Dr. Abshire operated on him and now I have my husband back. I have several friends who have seen Dr. Abshire and just rave about what a great surgeon he is. I would highly recommend him hands down.

I had adult onset scoliosis that came from years of osteoarthritis in my spine. Dr. Abshire was conscientious, caring and the only Dr. that came recommended by everyone I spoke to as being the only Dr they would let near their back if they needed surgery. He completely re-built my back from S-1 to T-9. 2 yrs post surgery, I managed to break one of the rods and he went back in and replaced it. The only reason the rod broke was that I began doing things I shouldn't do. I am walking upright and not in a wheelchair, which is what I was facing prior to surgery - and I no longer get electric shocks down my legs and back. I now need a knee replacement, and wish he did knees as well!

I was referred to Dr. Abshire by my orthopedic Dr. Dr. Abshire reviewed my MRI and suggested that a (laminectomy) would probably help my back pain (sciatic nerve was pinched) He told me he had high success with this surgery. I went thru considerable pain post surgery. I went through physical therapy and seemed OK, then 2 months later the pain was back with a vengeance.....SOLID NON STOP..I went back to see Dr, Abshire and he suggested more PT..and more NORCO a ;powerful pain pill 100 pills. I struggled and have come to regret this surgery. Dr. Abshire mentioned FUSION prior to my laminectomy and said if he gets inside it may be necessary to FUSE MY SPINE??? I objected to the thought of a FUSION and went for the "pre op" and the "NIGHTMARE" began in my life. I saw him again 6 months later and he said I'll need spinal fusion in order to be better. I'm very skeptical about another surgery, especially after my first surgery turned out so bad. I'm in constant pain and now I… have a new pain on my right foot not to mention the scar on my low back. Please seek a second opinion before proceeding with this surgery.

Excellent surgery on spine with tumor in vertebra. Kept her upright and walking when she could have been without use of legs. Gave her 3 additional years of life.

His diagnosis of me was the same every year with an annual MRI. After a few years, suddenly he said I needed a certain surgery, or I could die at any moment. Got the Chief of Neurosurgery from a major Medical Center and Medical School who totally disagrees with this diagnosis and now I do not even need annual MRIs. Unbelievable the scare he gave me.
