Dr. Bret Newton Frey, MD

Dr Frey, expressed extreme neglect of his patient, my husband. We came to his facility after a diagnosis of separated shoulder. Dr. Frey refused to review the files from the ER and told us that my husband was not injured and was just sore. He did not physically touch him to verify his determination either. When we asked for a timeline of returning to work and starting exercises, Dr. Frey told us “that’s not my job, I’m not a PCP”. We also asked the Dr to examine his ribs. He said “I’m a shoulder guy”. We left the facility with no more knowledge than we arrived in. The 2nd opinion confirmed the separation and fractured ribs.

He did a total replacement on both of my knees. I could not be any happier with the outcome. I would highly recommend him!

Dr. frey recently cared for my father. His office got us in quickly and got him scheduled the next day to fix a fracture. He discussed the treatment options and showed him his x-rays. I would recommend him

I really had to take time out to write a review because for over 2 yrs, open heart surgery, gastric bypass, two rotator cuff tears...I FINALLY FOUND A DR who 1) took time out to listen to my perils, 2) took time to call the referring doctor and also the person who read the MRI, explained to me THE REAL REASON I am having such chronic pain...the open heart surgery was massive when the breastbone has to be split and I knew it was massive, I spent 8 days on life support of the 23 days in ICU...but the PAIN--has been excruciating..but NOW, THANKS TO DR FREY, I may be able to progress back to being able to work, and no more surgeries. thanks, dr frey..you were truly a blessing--God bless you always

I WENT TO VISIT DR FREY FOR MY ANKLE AND HE WAS VERY COURTEOUS AND WAS ABLE TO EXPLAIN EVERYTHING ABOUT WHAT GOES GOING ON WITH MY ANKLE AND GAVE ME A PEACE OF MIND IT WAS GOING TO BE OK

I saw Dr Frey for a wrist injury and he was very well spoken, informative, attentive and Knowledgeable in the treatment I needed for my injury. His nurse was nice and comforting. The entire process was a great experience from check in to check out and I would recommend him to anyone I know.

During my visit with Dr. Frey, he spouted at least four different Latin diagnoses and came to within with in six inches of me stating one of them followed by "is your diagnosis!" It was definitely an intimidation move. The problem was that the area of minor pain his diagnosis addressed was totally unrelated to the severe pain that had brought me to his office and had me on the verge of tears at the time. He refused to acknowledge and address my other areas of pain. Other medical providers I have seen told me that he is known for treating patients the way I was treated. I was quite upset with him, which he did at least care about. I told him that he was not listening to me. His reply was, "What do you mean I am not listening to you? I have written down everything you said." Writing down what is said and allowing that to influence your thought processes are two different things. We were at an impasse so he suggested that I needed an MRI. I asked why I [suddenly] needed an… MRI, hoping that we might be communicating finally. His response was that I needed to be screened for a bone disease. I later picked up a copy of his visit report. The reason he gave for ordering the MRI was a possible injury which was not even hinted at during my visit. If he had said that to me I probably would not be writing this! I saw a second orthopedist who diagnosed the injury during my exam. He ordered an MRI to determine the severity of that injury and screen for the bone disease. I will say that he does spend time in the exam room with patients and takes an interest in what they may be doing to pass the time when he walks in.

My review is from quite some time ago. I was in a car accident and broke my left radius and radioulnar joint. I was taken to the ER where nothing could be done since I had just eaten. I was told to call the on-call doctor's office the next day. The next day was Martin Luther King Day and his office was closed. I called the day after THAT, and the doctor wanted a large sum of money up front and was not willing to work with me on my insurance claim. After going through the phone book and calling every orthopedic doctor straight down the list, Dr. Frye agreed to work with me. He asked for nothing up front and accomodated me through the insurance claim process. He also spoke with the anesthesiologist and asked him to accomodate me as well. He was kind, generous, passionate about his work, and I would absolutely recommend him one hundred times over.

Dr Frey replaced both my knees at different time with excellent results both times. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Frey performed a hip and knee replacement on me and did a great job.
