Dr. Bret Lashner

Had another decent GI specialist at the Cleveland Clinic, only to be discharged (without being told so by the provider) and sent to this clown of a guy. He initially continued my meds I was on, but when insurance suddenly denied a prior auth for a med I've been taking for a while - he couldn't spend 3 minutes thinking about what else would help me and instead reverted back to Miralax (where I started, 3 years ago, and got no relief from). I reminded him of this and that I’d appreciate some actual help, but he just turned into a Miralax robot. Came to the Cleveland Clinic to get some answers and some help and got...... Miralax. A simple google search showed me at least a handful of medications I haven't tried that he could have put me on. Instead, I am over here in pain waiting to be seen by a different office, where hopefully .... someone cares.

Dr. Lashner is amazing! I have severe Crohn’s Disease & Colitis & he keeps me calm during my appointments! He spends plenty of time w/ me, shows me my scans, goes over my test results, explains my treatment plan in depth, gives me treatment options (if I’m allowed to have them, lol)too! He is an amazing man who truly cares about his patients & what he does! There is no other dr comparable to him in the Cleveland area & possibly farther than that! He also teaches, sees patients, is actively involved in trial & study medications, & is huge with philanthropy in his field of study!

Dr. Lashner has been my doctor for many years now, I only wish he was closer to my home. I have to drive over an hour to see him, but, he is worth it. He has been spot on about my diagnosis, and he has consulted with the other doctors @ the clinic when needed, as he has said my case is a difficult one. I have confidence in the surgeons he has recommended, and my many minor surgeries have been successful. I do have a gastroenterologist in my home town, but, when I feel the problem needs special attention, I go to Dr. Lashner. He has always been kind to me and discreet about my condition which sometimes can be sensitive and embarrassing. He never makes me feel uncomfortable, it's just all routine to him. I hope he never retires!

I really appreciate having Dr. Lashner as my gastroenterologist. I live several hours away from his office and am happy to travel there for appointments. He had insights into my illness that no other gastroenterologist picked up on. He's reachable by phone as I need him and has an excellent bedside manner. I feel fortunate having him as my doctor.
