Disappointing Experience with Dr. Bret Scher I sought out Dr. Scher for a second opinion on my heart health, specifically because he appears knowledgeable based on his public discussions of metabolic cardiology. I expected a thorough, well-prepared consultation with clear guidance. I paid for what was described as an extended consultation and additional testing, but unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. Concerns with My Consultation: Shortened Appointment & Lack of Preparation – I was told the session would be longer than it actually was. During our discussion, it became clear that he had not reviewed my medical history in depth, as he asked several questions that had already been answered in my records. His recommendations felt general rather than tailored to my case. Unclear Medical Advice – One of his key recommendations was a specific heart-related test, but his explanation left me confused about how it differed from standard options. Later, my primary… cardiologist disagreed with this recommendation. Failure to Follow Up – I reached out to Dr. Scher after the appointment, requesting that he coordinate with my primary doctor about his recommendations. After over a week without a response, I followed up. He acknowledged my request and said he would make contact, but to my knowledge, this never happened. Delayed Access to My Test Results – I was notified that my test results were available, but I was unable to access them until Dr. Scher provided approval. Despite multiple attempts to follow up, there was a delay in receiving them. Final Thoughts For the price, I expected a detailed, thoughtful, and engaged experience. Instead, I received a rushed session, minimal insights, and no follow-up. Based on this, I cannot recommend Dr. Scher for private consultations. If you are considering working with him, be aware that preparation, responsiveness, and follow-through may not meet your expectations.

Never shook our hand when he came in or when he left. Never addressed the meds I was prescribed from recent ER visit. Atrributed everything to diet and exercise. Never suggested follow-up. Referred for Sleep Apnea Study due to my report of being tired a lot lately. Didn't address the fact that I have been short of breath and experiencing heart palpitations for last six weeks as possible reason for fatique. Couldn't get out of room fast enough after I blew up about comment that it was diet and exercise that caused this. Never addressed spot on lungs either for shortness of breath. Never suggested plan of action to rewsolve health issues while working on losing the weight. Waste of my time and money.
