Dr. Brett Broussard

Dr. Broussard treated me for a major surgical problem. He is a top expert in his field, but he is also someone who takes the time to explain the procedure so you can understand it, answers all of your questions and concerns, demonstrates compassion, and cares that you are treated well. In all the surgeries that I have had over the past years, he’s the only doctor that has come to see me in my hospital room multiple times. He made sure I understood what happened during the surgery, and what to expect while I was in the hospital. Not only was he concerned with my care before the surgery, but for afterwards. Dr. Broussard and his team made me feel that he saw me and cared that I was going to get better. He is certainly a shining star in the medical field!

I met with Dr. Broussard a couple of times before scheduling surgery. He spent more time with me than any other doctor has. He explained the procedure thoroughly and in easily understandable terms. Post surgery Dr Broussard and several of his surgical staff stopped by to see how I was doing. They all cared so much and it meant a lot. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Broussard, his expertise and friendly manner, and the staff at Boswell. Thank you all so much.

From my first consultation to surgery to post op my experience with Dr. Broussard has been incredible. He spent a great deal of time at every level to make sure I was at complete ease with the process. He is kind, compassionate and patient. My surgery was seamless, my post op has been remarkable, less than two weeks and I feel wonderful. I highly, highly recommend Dr. Broussard. His entire staff was marvelous as well.

Dr. Broussard is one of the nicest, most compassionate and thorough doctors who have ever treated me. My situation was quite complex and he took additional time to explain everything I needed to know about my surgery and recovery.

I was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma lung cancer in my left lung, and was referred to Dr. Broussard for surgery. When we met him he explained in detail my cancer, my options for treatment, and then procedure we agreed upon. His knowledge was impressive, and his kind manner was appreciated. His nurse went over everything I would need to do before surgery in detail. She kept in constant contact with me making sure I had did everything required before surgery. After surgery Dr. Broussard checked on me several times each day in the hospital. What doctor does that? I am now cancer free because of him. In my opinion If you are fortunate enough to get Dr. Broussard you are in the best hands you can be.

I have comments about two organizations within the hospital system. The first one is the Banner Boswell Medical Center hospital staff itself. Every single person that we encountered during my appointments and hospital stay had a wonderful caring bedside manner. Everyone was friendly, professional and helpful. They made us feel they cared and were deeply concerned with me and my treatment and recovery. The second organization was the Thoracic Surgery Team of the MD Anderson Cancer Center at Boswell. My team was headed by Dr. Brett Broussard, PA-C Steve Sando and RN Patty Beauregard. Again, every person we encountered was caring, friendly and professional. Dr. Broussard spent as much time as was needed to fully explain all my cancer care options, the surgical procedure in detail and answer all of our questions. RN Patty was truly amazing in organizing the workup to the surgery and ensuring every detail was handled correctly. This has included pre and post surgery care. The… upper right lobectomy was a complete success! While in the hospital I was visited everyday by Dr. Broussard and PA-C Sando to evaluate and explain my progress. I couldn't be happier with the care and the result has given me a new lease on life. Dr. Broussard, I can't thank you enough! I highly recommend this hospital and Thoracic Surgery Team to anyone suffering with a lung cancer diagnosis.

Dr. Broussard is the kindest Dr. I have ever had. He took all the time I needed to understand what my surgery would entail and did the same in my post op visit. He made a terrible diagnosis bearable and I will always be grateful for that.

We are very pleased with Dr. Brett Broussard, both his skilled work and his bed side manners. Brett spent a lot of time with us explaining the procedure and what the possible results could be.
