Dr. Brett David Kalmowitz, MD

Dr. Kalmowitz is simply the best. He is not only absolutely brilliant, but he cares about each patient. Before going to Dr. Kalmowitz, I was in and out of the hospital with Crohn's flare ups, and I was in agonizing pain. Dr. Kalmowitz immediately consulted with my previous Boston specialist, and devised a plan. After putting me on a biologic, I have not had a flare up in years. Dr. Kalmowitz is an advocate for his patients, and he will work endlessly with insurance companies to get his patients the best care. He looks at the body as a whole. He was very supportive to me when I had breast cancer even though it wasn't GI related. He truly cares and listens to each of his patients. Dr. Kalmowitz is always very responsive with messages in his portal. He is also incredible with emergencies. During one of my visits, I had an urgent medical situation. He kept me calm, didn't panic, and called a rescue for me. If you want an amazing gastroenterologist who listens and cares for you, Dr.… Kalmowitz is the physician for you. RI is so blessed to have him, and I look forward to being his patient for years to come.

This doctor was excellent. He was knowledgeable, patient, and answered all of my questions. He was great at reviewing options and creating a plan that would be best for me. I appreciated that he is going to keep my other physicians updated on my lab work. He was friendly and helped me understand what was going on with health wise. I would highly recommend this doctor.

It has been a long time since I saw a doctor that did not walk into the room and stare at the computer instead of talking to me. This doctor was great. He sat with me, unrushed, and listened to me in a very compassionate way.

This is a great practice. I was very unhappy with the care I was receiving from a different practice and I asked for a second opinion from a nurse I know and my doctor. I looked him up and was skeptical but I was really impressed. They had me on a cancellation list and were able to get me squeezed in really quickly and then get the appointment and the colonoscopy right away. He found a precancerous polyp that was causing my test to be abnormal and removed it and it was painless.

I'm usually very nervous around medical people and medical treatment, but not with Dr. Kalmowitz. It's great to have a great doctor with a super bed-side manner.
