Dr. Brett Alan Marvel, MD

Dr Marvel was the ER physician at Hillcrest that attended to me from my head on car wreck ( I was not at fault and the 18 yo that was at fault died at the scene) on a Tues in 2018. I had 5 fractures and 2 dislocation in my right foot, a facture in my left foot, a broke nose, broke left hand and a sprained right wrist. I also had a skinned area on my left knee but that fracture wasn't found until a week later. I was sent home on crutches, non weight bearing on my right foot. Dr Marvel made an appointment for me to see an orthopedic at the sports medicine clinic 2 days later on Thurs. I went to that visit but my foot was not looked at but made fun of for wearing a wood shoe due to the fracture in my left foot, they made another appointment to see one of their associates for Mon. This dr was polite and apologized, had me an appointment set up with a trauma team at BS&W Temple. This team fought to save my foot that had been in a splint for a week. I had skin damage due to the way the… splint was done. I should have been sent to trauma immediately and they may have been able to save my foot. I would have sued for malpractice but statue of limitations is 2 years and I didn't get confirmation of the malpractice until after that time limit had passed. Because of the delay in medical treatment, the bones died and they had to amputate my leg.

My grandmother went in with severe pain in her abdomen. The CT did not show the appendix, he did not order additional testing, instead sent her home telling her it was viral stomach bug. Two days later she’s back with a ruptured appendix and week long hospital stay.
