Dr. Brett Allen Miller, MD

February 2020 I took my 92 year old father to the ER at Baptist Hospital East due to a fall. While being monitored in the ER my father's blood pressure was at stroke level (226 systolic). Mr.Miller (does not deserve to be called doctor) stated he could not find any issues from the fall. Mr. Miller gave my father one dose of clonidine to lower my father's blood pressure and sent him home. Even though it is well documented in the charts at Baptist that my father had orthostatic hypotensive blood pressure. Any other time I took my father to the ER with stroke level blood pressure he was admitted. Due to Mr. Miller's negligence my father had a stroke after being sent home and died 4 months later. I would sue Dr. Miller and the hospital, however I was told stroke is hard to prove. In essence, get another doctor if you are seen by Mr. Miller, he basically killed my father.

He was very incompetent and uninformed about my health conditions ...he refused to order tests the my specialist said NEEDED to be run during an attack in the ER .....these tests can only be done while certain symptoms are happening and must be done at the ER..even though my doctor put in the request for this Dr. MILLER refused to do the test...a simple blood test....he also did the very barest and minimal treatment...didn't even give me an IV which is also one of the things my cardiologist said I need at every ER visit....Dr. MILLER refused.....I was left for over 12 hours with severe symptoms....BP 200/108 and chest pain etc etc....with NO IV no meds, no help at all....he ran 2 basic blood tests and a troponin and said no heart attack go home.....OK but what is Causing the extreme pain...??? why not try to find out..???? he was the only Dr. in the ER on this visit..otherwise I would have requested a different doctor as I had had this bad doctor previously as well...

Dr. Miller was very thorough and kind when he treated my Dad in the ER this past Thursday night. He listened to all of my Dad's symptoms, concerns and fears. He ruled out a heart attack and suggested that he follow up with a cardiologist and his eye DR. as soon as possible.

Hope that Dr. Miller gets assigned to you. He is super compassionate, which is nice when you feel awful. Extremely competent.

Dr. miller was thorough and my issue was resolved. It's an ER - so you can't expect a lengthy conversation- but it was adequate. I felt like he heard me though.

Dr Miller was very cold and thought highly of himself. Sorry I had him as my doctor.
