Dr. Brett Scotch, DO

I paid everything i was asked to pay (100% of their quote) at the time of service. Months they come up with an additional bill. You know this is threatening and wrong. Its to small of an amount to fight and just ruins your credit. Good honest people with good credit are their victims. SHAME ON THEM. The word will get around for sure. What would you do if someone you bought something from all of a sudden demands more money. Would you pay it?

I would not recommend Dr. Scotch and his practice. My husband scratched the skin in his ear but could hear fine. He was seen by the PA for 4 visits over 2 months before finally calling in Dr. Scotch. My husband’s ear got worse during that time following the PA’s advice. When Dr. Scotch came in, he was unfamiliar with my husband’s case. An audiometry test done early on showed his hearing was affected, but no details were given. Dr. Scotch prescribed a different treatment and wanted my husband to see the PA in a couple of weeks. After our history with the PA, I said we wanted Dr. Scotch. We returned with no change. The next treatment Dr. Scotch prescribed was one my husband had already tried. At that point, we sought a 2nd opinion. The early audiometry test results were explained in detail and a different, and much less costly, treatment prescribed. We switched to this doctor. After a month, another audiometry test showed improvement. Two weeks after that, his hearing had returned.

I did a telehealth for general test results. My appt. was for 1:45pm. They didn't let me know they were gonna be late so I had to call them like i have time to baby a Dr.'s office to do their JOB and if they are gonna be late, to at least let me know instead of having me wait in front of a computer while i have to WORK. They told me they were running late. I asked, "why didn't u CALL and let me know this as i don't have all day to be in the front of a computer waiting". Sorry crap like everyone does which doesn't fix the issue. They said wait 15 to 20 minutes. I waited a FULL HOUR before I called back again and THEN the DR finally came on. MIND U, I am still at WORK from home and I had to give up my lunch time for this nonsense but they didn't care. Cause THEY are backed up, I have to pay for it? Wasted my lunch time AND they charged me an OFFICE visit to charge me a CO PAY which i have NEVER paid one for telehealth for the past 2 years but of course, they wanted the co pay for being… late and having me wait an hour cause they are so disorganized and the office MGR Refused to waive the co pay and even the DR himself said he will not wave the co pay. Mind u after all this, the DR gave me very Generic answers to my questions instead of just admitting he didn't know. Too proud of his degree to admit he didn't know like 98% of the DR.s out there. This pandemic as given medical facilities an EASY way out with EXCUSES as to them being so disorganized, GREEDY for money more than usual and to give poor customer service which customer service should be number 1, but in todays society it's nonexistent and EVERYONE accepts this. Sickens me how the medical industry is as money hungry as the wall street crooks and the pharma industry and corp CEO's. U get aweful service for what? This Dr should have waived the co pay which should have NOT been charged as i called my insurance and they said the dr was NOT supposed to charge it as an office visit as it's a telehealth.

I did extensive due diligence prior to a test to get cost information, find out all the procedure codes and confirmation that those codes would be covered by my insurance. I needed this information to decide whether to proceed with the medical procedure. I sent multiple emails, messages in the patient portal, and recorded voice messages (because they never answer the phone) to gather all this info (hence, all well documented). The night before the test I contacted my insurance company to find out if they had received any of the procedure code information from the doctor and they had not and guided me to cancel the appointment until I satisfactorily received the info I requested. So, I cancelled the appointment and the doctor’s office had the gall to threaten me with cancellation fees. I finally received the cost and one procedure code and the reference number from when the doctor’s office contacted my insurance, and the appointment was rescheduled based on that info (again, well… documented). I paid the quoted cost on the day of the procedure. Weeks later, I received a bill for a much higher cost. I researched how they came up with such a higher cost and found out that they added another procedure code without informing me. When I asked why they didn’t inform me when I went through all that extensive due diligence to get this info, they said they made a “mistake” and “forgot” to include the 2nd code originally. So, why would I pay for that 2nd code due to their mistake? They refused to provide a credit for the 2nd code. Then they tried to tell me the cost was higher because I hadn’t met my deductible and because the original quote was just an estimate. I sure hope the office manager is smart enough to understand that this situation has nothing to do with deductibles and estimates and it has everything to do with the fact that they “forgot” a code when I requested the info. If I had all the correct info when I requested it before the test, I would not have proceeded with that test at that time. The office manager referred me to the Central Billing Office. I spoke with the manager there, who agreed with me, but could not issue the credit. The credit could only be issued by the office manager and the doctors office was incorrect in referring me to the Central Billing Office, according to the manager at the Central Billing Office. I contacted my insurance company and they had heard of many cases of this “mistake”, and when this happens it is normally resubmitted and corrected. Stay far away from a doctor with such incompetent and unknowledgeable office staff, who will make you pay for their mistake.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Scotch! His office provided such care and safety during this time of COVID-19. He was thorough in his explanations and went over everything with me so I could understand diagnosis and treatment. I highly recommend Dr. Scotch as an excellent ENT!

Outstanding care all around care!! Not only provided insights to known symptoms, but also Dr. Scotch's exams revealed a serious condition missed by other "Professionals". BLUF: Dr. Scotch is highly recommended for Vets and civilians alike.

Dr. Scotch and his staff were excellent. He truly listens to you and works to solve your medical problem. He has a kind and reassuring bedside manner and put me and my husband at ease Best ear nose and throat doctor I have ever seen and I have seen a lot. His office staff was also very helpful and friendly.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Scotch. He is so caring, and he really takes the time to make sure that all of my questions are answered. I have had lifelong ear problems and have had ENTs in the past be very impatient and rough with me during their exams of my ears, but not Dr. Scotch! He is so gentle and always makes sure to tell me what he is about to do during his exam. I have been going to him for years, and I would recommend him to anyone!

Dr. Scotch has given me wonderful, up-to-date and effective treatment for my allergies and sinus headaches. No longer do I suffer those devastating painful headaches. Changed my life for the better! And his office is very efficient and friendly.

I have to many ENTs around the country. he is the best in service, care & knoeledge.
