If you dig through the comments on different sites far enough back, you’ll see many accounts of people claiming “over prescribing”. I’ve waited nearly 10 years to post my review but I just can’t believe he’s still practicing. I’ve now had multiple physicians and clinical psychotherapists confirm that Dr. Babiak irresponsibly misdiagnosed and irresponsibly overprescribed serious medications. It was honestly dangerous. I would not recommend.

I saw Dr. B for several years. He is brilliant, quirky, moody, helpful, unhelpful, interesting, funny, wonderful, terrible, irresponsible, responsible, and he did and did not help me. If you would like to know what worked for me, Dr. B, email me.

At first I thought Dr. Babiak was a great doctor. he prescribed me what i needed. I thought it was strange how he seemed more intrigued with my story/diagnoses than he did in wanting to help me. It was all good for a few months until I was running out of SSRI meds (Which you cannot abruptly stop taking). he did not answer my numerous texts, phone calls, or emails over the course of a few weeks. I ended up having to go to urgent care and BEG THEM to prescribe me medication just because Dr. Babiak couldn't make a simple phone call to my pharmacy and tell them to refill it. Do not see this doctor. he is sketchy, weird, and extremely unreliable.

honestly do not understand any of the positive reviews. Perhaps it's because he prescribes the meds people ask for without question. But when it comes to serious psychiatric analysis and understanding he is seriously lacking. He makes very quick decisions based on a cursory reading of a persons situation. If you question his decisions or simply have questions about the medications prescribed he quickly becomes dismissive and unpleasant. He's egotistical and condescending. In my situation he prescribed a high dosage of an antidepressant an ADHD med testosterone injections and a highly addictive sleep medication. When I had a bad reaction to this ludicrous cocktail of drugs and I told him about it the unpleasantness I just described emerged. He never correctly explained how to take the ADHT pills while refusing to admit this error on his part (even with the evidence of our email communications I had saved) He then refused to take any responsibility for the situation he… had caused. Instead of admitting that this combination of drugs was devastatingly wrong for me and trying a new path, he thought it wss better to add MORE drugs into the combination. When I expressed my extreme displeasure with this situation he simply dropped me as a client. Dr. Babiaks conduct was absolutely inexcusable and I believe bordering on criminal. He's essentially one step above a street level drug dealer (he works out of his house) earning $200 an hour. If a drug dealer is what you need, see Dr. Babiak!

While he's a nice enough guy, he has horrible communication skills. He doesn't respond to emails when asked for more information about what is being prescribed. He gives contradictory instructions for how to take the medications and every other member of the care team (pharmacist, therapist and doctor) was shocked by the combination of drugs and dosages prescribed. One prescription given is for conditions that aren't even present. He also vapes during the session.

Bad reviews are just judgemental. He's funny gives you a full hour who elsedoes as a real psychiatrist zero so be appreciative. I saw him a year and think he felt bad taking my money and sent me to his colleague so he's no money hungry doctor he has ethics.

He is an amazing doctor, very knowledgeable about medications and their functions, he treats symptoms and not just the diagnoses. He treats patients like people, listening to, and taking into account our own knowledge and experiences in our brains. He has a great sense of humour making appointments feel more like catching up with a friend than the ever anxiety inducing "doctor's office visit". He offers video conference appointments as well which is a huge help if you live a distance away and can't commute all the time. He also accepts insurance, including medicaid Excellus. After 15 years of trying different doctors and a whole slew of medications, unable to find any effective solutions, having given up on the possibility that such a thing even existed for me, he has been able to help me. His experience spans from general medical practice, to psychiatry, and many other areas in between. He is truly the best, most knowledgeable doctor I have ever seen. Especially if you have… complicated, difficult to treat symptoms, or a treatment resistant condition, please consider going to see him.

He doesn’t answer insurance people papers, or let you talk with him when you need him.

In my opinion you cannot be a mental health provider and a mean person, because you never know what someone is going though in their personal life. And a psychiatrist should understand that better than anyone. In my expirence with him, I did not feel comfortable with this provider.
