Philosophy of care
"Because of all the options we have in the field of cardiology and valvular heart disease, I think shared decision making is very important; having a thorough discussion about the patient's thoughts and values and what they want to get out of their care.
"In this day and age, it's important to have an imaging specialist who is trained in performing and interpreting these specialized echocardiograms involved in the care of these patients. For patients with severe or complex valvular heart disease, the best care is provided when we utilize a heart team approach including an imaging specialist, and that's what I bring."
