I had a total hip replacement in November. My surgeon Dr. Burnikel is amazing. He is so friendly, easy to talk to and patiently answers questions. I was so impressed with Patewood Hospital (Pre-Assessment, Joint Camp, Surgery and Recovery). Everyone I met was caring and the facility was beautiful. This hospital has high honors for Advanced total hip certification and Dr. Burnikel utilized the STAR approach (minimally invasive hip replacement procedure designed to reduce trauma to the surrounding tissues and promote faster recovery). I can truly attest my recovery has been a breeze! This whole team is like a well-oiled machine with clear steps and communication on what to expect and what your role is to ensure a successful outcome. Many thanks to Dr. Burnikel and his office staff as well as the surgical and medical team at Patewood.

DR. BURNIKEL DID TWO HIP SURGERIES FOR ME IN 2018. I WAS 75 YEARS OLD AT THAT TIME. I HAD NO PAIN AFTERWARDS AND WAS UP WALKING 2 HOURS AFTER RETURNING TO MY ROOM..I WAS ABLE TO GO HOME THE NEXT DAY. I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW EXTREMELY HAPPY I AM WITH HIS SERVICES AND WOULD RECOMMEND HIM HIGHLY!

Recently I had a total knee replacement done by Dr. Burnikel. I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. He is very communicative and answers all questions of which I had many since I am 88 years old. I highly recommend him for his skill and his warm personality.

In 2010, Dr. Bernikel did a hip replacement in my left hip and was very helpful in the follow up sessions. His skills were superior and the results were very, very good so that until the present time I have had no problems (except when stopped by the TSA at the airport!)
