He's extremely lazy. His staff is rude and unprofessional. He yells at patients. He doesn't follow up with prescriptions. Go ANYWHERE else.

Urgent care suggests focus and attention as required by many new/one-time patients. That was me needing an antibiotic knowing a couple that have worked well more than twice over the years. The doc nailed a diagnosis in our 5-min., but prescribed an STD treatment that wouldn't touch a sinus infection. Oh, surprise: they were closed the following week, so suffer I did because there was no "Gone Fishin" sign on the door. Worse yet, calling went to a standard greeting of office hours and option to leave a message. Pharmacist explained it while sympathizing and offering what over-the-counter they had. Rule #1: don't get sick.

I have been taking an ACE inhibitor for hypertension for over 20 years. For the past 6 years Dr. Carey has been my primary care prescribing physician. I have been caught out of state for an extended period and need a refill. Apparently my home pharmacy lost the original script information with a refill authorization. I have been trying for two weeks to get Dr. Carey to authorize an out of state refill with no success. His office claims they have called the pharmacies. Two separate pharmacies SWEAR he has not called or returned their calls. I believe the pharmacies, as his office never calls me back either. This is the worst care I have ever received in my life. I am astounded by this!

Excellent in all respects. Knowledgeable, professional, thorough. No-nonsense but personable.

I am thankful to have Dr. Carey to turn to. In my experiences with many different doctors and health care experts, ranging from childbirth to hysterectomy, appendectomy, dermatology, bunionectomy, as well as overseeing all the medical care necessitated by my elderly grandmother, all the way through a decade of Alzheimer's to her death., I have suffered from a LOT of ill treatment from physicians and/or their staff. No one should made to feel like a victim of the profit-driven health care system or caught in a battle between insurance companies and big pharma. After moving away from little Tryon, I find myself returning to the thoughtful, considerate, and patient health care offered by Dr. Carey's office. I do NOT mind the miles or the minutes required to drive and wait in his office. His staff is very courteous, and I had the opportunity to watch them work through an office FULL of patients. Dr. Carey does not rush, and though he may not be a specialist in EVERY aspect of medicine, he… doesn't claim to be, he is an excellent door-opener to get you the help you need. And hey, he has National Geographic. Thank you Dr. Carey!!

Urgent care is a mistake! Waited over 2 hours. Drug sales ladies were spoke to over waiting patients!

Was using him as my family doctor for a little over a year, but have grown very tired of the arrogance of the staff that schedules the appointment and answers the phone.. She is rude and makes no since when she cant remember what she is actually doing.Experienced her being rude to me and another patient then nice as she could be to a different one. Think she might be Bi-polar.Spoke with Dr. Carey about the problem he seemed very oblivious about how rude his staff was being even though he witnessed the rude hatefulness.Asked for my records on my last visit and have NOT been back.

I have never had a problem with appointments. I was told once he was busy but I could do a walk-in. I did and was seen immediately. Either there were no shows or he got busy at the task at hand. He is very courteous and thorough. He has excellent equipment. I am use to spending and hour waiting to see a doctor so 20 minutes is nothing. Maybe these bad reviews are from people who have no regard for the job a doctor and his staff must do. Maybe they have a busier schedule than the doc. LOL

First of all, for those who have complained about the wait time, this is an Urgent Care facility and everyone should realize that some days and times are busier than others at this type of office; for example flu season. That being said, I was very impressed with Dr. Carey's knowledge. I have recommended him to family and friends. The office staff is by far the friendliest around and he has the best, most up to date equipment in the area. We are fortunate to have Dr. Carey in our community.

Dr. Carey was able to see me as a walk-in for a physical for my nursing program medical screening and take care of all the. He did so in a friendly and fair manner. His help was greatly appreciated and he treated me with respect. Thank you Dr. Carey and all the staff at his office y'all are wonderful.
