Dr. Brian Collins, MD

I saw Dr. Collins for over a year regarding my AFib. Last year, he scheduled me for a 2-week Holter test, which was scheduled a month after requested in order to give staff time to get insurance approval. I had the test as scheduled, then 6 months or so later, his billing office tried to bill me over $1000 for this test, out of the blue. I called and politely explained that I was not informed there would be any co-pay billed for the monitoring or analysis. The billing office and back office people were very rude to me, repeatedly arguing with me over the course of several months that the money was due, despite the fact that my insurance EOB stated that I owed $0 for the test and analysis. The biller threatened to send me to collections. She and the office staff refused to allow me to speak to or leave a message for Dr. Collins. They said that they had brought my situation to the attention of Dr. Alturjuman, who is Dr. Collin's partner, and that he said I owed the money, and… that was that. He refused to speak to me in person or allow me to leave him a message. I finally had to get an adjuster from my insurance company to do a three-way telephone call with myself and the biller, and the insurance adjuster explained to the biller (as I had already done) that what they were doing was called "balance billing," and was against the contractual agreement they had made with the insurance company, and if they persisted, they could lose their right to continue to do business with the insurance carrier. She finally, reluctantly, agreed to cancel the charges and stop dunning me, and to send me written confirmation of that fact. I cancelled future appointments with Dr. Collins, even though I liked him very much as a doctor, because I refuse to have office staff treat me rudely, bill me for things I don't owe, threaten me with collections, and refuse to allow me to even leave a message for the doctor to try to help resolve the situation. I would never go to this office again.

One of the best doctors I've ever worked with. He really pays attention to his patients' needs, and thinks outside the box to try to get his patients the best possible prognoser

He's a miracle worker with cancer. I would see him again and recommend him to anyone who has cancer

He treated my Mother. He was not only a great Doctor but he was very kind and good to my Mother.
