Dr. Brian D Connell, DDS

I've been a patient here for 7 years. Andrea at the front desk is always nice and remembers me but I haven't seen Dr. Connell in while. Every time I come in it seems I have a different dental hygienist and a different Dentist. That makes for a very generic experience. I'd prefer to have one dentist and hygienist to see every time I visit.

HORRIBLE services provided by Dr. Connell. My daughter saw Dr. Connell because of a cracked tooth. He said she needed a crown and he completed the 1st part of the procedure, including putting on the temporary crown. She experienced a lot of pain which continued to worsen over the next few days. She called Dr. Connell, who said the amount of pain she was in was unusual and she may need a root canal. He did not offer to see her to make sure nothing was wrong. Her pain worsened over the next two days & her gum around the crown turned a grey color. At midnight on a Friday night, she called Audubon Dental Group & left a message hoping someone would see her the next morning. One of the dentists there called her back a few minutes later and saw her at 8:00 the next morning, on a Saturday. X-rays showed that Dr. Connell had left a piece of "trash" in the crown, which was the source of her pain. They also showed my daughter that he left 2 jagged points on the crown that were digging into her… gum, hence the swollen and inflammed gums. I called Dr. Connell and told him what had occurred. He denied that he gave her inferior care. He kept telling me he thought she needed a root canal, which he doesn't do, and that's why he didn't tell her to come in so he could look at it. I asked if he was so certain of that why did he not tell her that and recommend someone. Then he tried to talk me into having her come back to him to put the final crown on. He said she needed to have the crown put on ASAP so she didn't get an infection in the root which would cause a really big problem. Thank goodness Audubon Dental (NOT Dr. Connell) gave her a prescription for an antibiotic mouthwash to protect both the root and her inflammed gums. To add insult to injury, Dr. Connell refused to reimburse me for the charges I incurred at Audubon Dental since she didn't continue his service in putting on the permanent crown. He told me if my daughter came back to him, he would reimburse me. I've never filed a complaint against any doctor or dentist, but the care provided here was so inadequate, I'm filing one with the LA Dental Bd. Save yourself frustration, money and potentially pain, and DO NOT USE THIS Dr.
