Dr. DiCarlo spent a lot of time explaining options and answering questions. Very caring doctor!

Dr. DiCarlo was adequate in handling the medical side of cancer: prescribing three chemotherapy treatments and then a clinical trial. Fine. However, he was not able to present the honest, vulnerable conversation about imminent death for late stage cancer. Maybe that is too painful for him but my husband and I didn’t know how much we needed that. When my husband did die, his office did not even send a sympathy card; seven other doctors from over the years all had that final connection with me and surviving family. Our last most important doctor! That was a critical omission from him and his staff. How sad to ignore the painful emotional side of death and dying!

Dr DiCarlo’s office is kind and caring. The doctor explained my husband’s illness in lay mans terms where you could understand what his course of action was going to be. He explained and then told us how he was going to treat him and what his hopes and expectations are. The wait time is minimum . The office staff is efficient and very easy to talk. I’d recommend Dr DiCarlo to anyone needing care. To bad he’s leaving his current location. Hope we can find where he’s moving his office.

Dr DICARLO is an outstanding person & physician. He and his amazing staff do and will get you through each step of your diagnosis, treatment plan and treatment with dignity and you will feel as you are part of their little office family's. I have never felt so welcomed and cared for .

This guy is smart and has a great bedside manner. He takes care of my mother who has a complicated cancer diagnosis. My family and I really trust his decisions and would highly recommend him to anybody who is battling cancer. His attitude puts us at ease and he gives us the feeling that he'll never give up on my mother. This is what all oncologists should strive to be. My family and I love him for the care he has given my mother.

Dr. DiCarlo is a very progressive oncologist (clinical trials with UCLA and Stanford) and his bed side manner is second to none. I have stage 3c Ovarian cancer with multiple complications and from the start Dr. DiCarlo has taken a very collaborative approach with my care. He is willing to seek the counsel of other specialists in area to manage some of my complications and is always very supportive and upbeat. He always listens to what I have to say and responds in a caring, compassionate manner. I would recommend him to anyone seeking an oncologist in the San Luis Obispo or Santa Barbara County area.

DICARLO IS PROFESSIONAL, KIND, COMPASSIONATE, BRILLENT, GREAT COMMUNICATION WITH PATIENT AND CARETAKER, HE IS ALWAYS PREPARED FOR ANYTHING THAT MAY COME UP, WHETHER IT BE A COMPLICATION, A NEW PLAN FOR TREATMENT , ETC.
