Dr. Brian A Dickens, DO

Dr. Dickens is by far the best family doctor that I have had the pleasure of engaging in the Roanoke area. He thoroughly explains your condition and teaches you how to treat it, prevent it and what to expect to happen next. He attacks your issue several ways. From medications, to exercise to nutrition to physical manipulation. He has always been very responsive to me and my family. He was recommended to me by a friend. After two visits with Dr. Dickens, I have moved my whole family over to him. I love the fact that I actually see MY DOCTOR...not a student, not a nurse...my doctor....and he actually takes time to listen to you....I feel like I get to decide when we are done...not a doctor who is racing around trying to get you out of there because he has several other patients waiting. I recommend him to everyone I know and care about.

As a medical professional, I'm quite selective when it comes to whom I entrust my medical care. Dr. Dickens is eager to assist in any way he can and goes above and beyond frequently. He is aggressive, from a medical standpoint, but when health is at stake that is a good thing. Many physicians quickly dismiss various conditions based on "statistics." Dr. Dickens has helped diagnose several of my friends and family in the last year that other physicians have dismissed as "statistically unlikely." One was saved from thyroid cancer after other physicians had dismissed the symptoms because the patient was "too young." I recommend Dr. Dickens to friends and family frequently. No hesitation.

I've been going to Dr. Dickens for over 3 yrs. now and find from my first review that he has become frustrated with my problem(s) as a diagnosis has proven elusive and the pain persists and has became way worse. What seemed like a doctor who spent time trying to find what was wrong, has now become a dump the problem patient off on somebody else to fix. I understand how frustrating it can be for him or any doctor to deal with this for 3 yrs as I know how frustrating it has been for me to live with this for said years. So I'm reviewing my review and changing my rating. As for a general health doctor you would be hard to come by a better one but for my kind of a situation your better off looking elsewhere.

Dr. Dickens has been superior to any other doctor I have seen. I have found that his is willingness to take plenty of time to listen is not predicated on the clock. I have never felt rushed in the least. This, coupled with his knowledge, has lead me to recommend him to a great number of my friends and would do so for you as well.

In an era where time is money, he takes his time. My wife had been to several doctors with a particular issue and everyone else had said it was nothing. Dr. Dickens took the time to actually diagnose her with Thyroid Cancer where everone else had missed.

Dr. Brian Dickens is one of the most professional doctors to whom I have ever beenI trust my health to him more than any other doctor. Not only is he caring and considerate but knowlegeable in many areas of care. He never hesitates to refer me to a specialist, if one of us thinks it is needed. I once asked him about talking to a specialist about an ailment I have. His reply was, "Okay, the one thing it will do is you will learn more about your particular problem, and so will I. It's a win win situation."I highly recomend Dr. Dickens.

I am not one who goes to see a doc very often so it is especially important to me that when I do I see someone who is sharp, clear, and understanding. Dr. Dickens is that man. Despite his relative youth I found him very wise and helpful and very responsive to my questions. Go see the guy....you will be glad you did.

I find Dr. Dickens a very good doc to have. Although we've had some problems in finding a diagnosis, being it is back and hip pain he has been very active in trying everything to diagnose the problem. I myself was prepared for this not to be such a easy problem to fix so I guess this is a good reason why I'm very satisfied with him as a doctor.
