Dr. Brian P Dickinson, MD

I first met Dr. Dickinson a little over 2 years ago. When I met him, I was a total mess, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. I was ready to give up after a previous breast reconstruction surgery from a double mastectomy that left my entire chest with necrotic tissue and severe scarring and deformity. At this time, I had been under the care of another surgeon for 18-months who ultimately told me that there was nothing he could do for me and that I would be "flat", with "scars all over", regardless of the surgery that he did. From day one, Dr. Dickinson had a completely different approach. His positive, caring, respectful, and friendly bedside manner, gave me hope again. He was proactive. He did not make any promises, nor ruled out any surgery until he ordered the necessary testing. After ordering a CT scan, Dr. Dickinson informed me I was a candidate for the DIEP surgery, explaining the risks associated. For every "possible" complication that could be… encountered, Dr. Dickinson already had a plan A and B to overcome it. I am happy to report Dr. Dickinson's results from a DIEP surgery (roughly 12-hours) exceeded my expectations. My case was very difficult, but Dr. Dickinson made it happen. I am back to being my old self in every possible way (physically, emotionally and mentally) thanks to Dr. Dickinson. He truly is a gifted plastic surgeon who wholeheartedly cares about his patients. I will forever be grateful.

I was teased about my nose ever since elementary school, and it got even worse in junior high and high school. The other kids used to say I had a beak and would make gestures and faces about my nose all the time. I had zero self-confidence during my childhood and growing up and it wasn’t until last year when I had my rhinoplasty with Dr. Dickinson. I am 28 years old now and I wish I had done my nose sooner. I got most of my confidence through working out and training. My physique took the attention off of my nose, and I liked the way my body looked from working out, but it really wasn’t until this past year when I had my nose done that I began to feel great about myself. All these years, I was worried about pain and was afraid that my nose would turn out messed up. I was so wrong about not doing it earlier and wish I had done so. Dr. Dickinson was super helpful throughout the process. During the consultation he listened to what I wanted and what my concerns were. He spent a lot of… time explaining the procedure to me. We took photos of my nose and then we spent time morphing my nose photo so that I could explain to him exactly what I wanted. This was so helpful because even I didn’t know exactly what I wanted until we started using the photo morph. I also didn’t know what would be a realistic change. I just knew that I wanted my nose smaller, I wanted the hump gone, and I wanted the tip smaller. I met with Dr. Dickinson once more prior to surgery so I could ask another round of questions. Between his lecture and the handout (the handout is super helpful BTW!) I hardly had any questions. He answered pretty much everything in his explanations. The nose surgery process was really not painful at all like he said. I had the stents in my nose for two days which was just a bit annoying. There was no pain and after the stents came out I felt fine. My nose was stuffy for about a month like Dr. D said, but he assured me that this would resolve, and it did. I just had to be patient with the changes. The stuffiness was the hardest part of the recovery. As far as the result, I am extremely happy and could not have imagined that it would look so great! My nose totally fits my face, and I am so glad that my nose doesn’t look like I had my nose done. I am so happy that I had my rhinoplasty and that I had it with Dr. Dickinson. He is a great doc! He is extremely kind, very patient, and extremely knowledgeable. He basically stated all the steps of the recovery to a T. Like the previous reviewer, I wasn’t sure if Dr. Dickinson was going to be able to do such delicate work on my nose, but he did. I am totally happy with my result. Thanks Dr. D! You are awesome and so kind!

I had a face lift several months ago with Dr. Dickinson and I am beyond happy with my results! I wish I had done it sooner. I was so well taken care of by Dr. D. and I love how I look that I wanted to help anyone else out there if they are on the fence about getting a facelift. Do it now!!! You will love it!!!! This is my second experience with Dr. D as ten years ago he reconstructed my breast after I had a mastectomy and radiation for stage 3 breast cancer. To be honest, when I first met Dr. Dickinson, I was not totally impressed by him as he looks more like a football player than a plastic surgeon. At the time of my breast cancer, I was not wholly convinced that he was a doctor able to perform vascular surgery. Nonetheless, after several meetings with my oncologists, the nurse navigators, and the radiologists, I was assured that Dr. D was the guy. My breast reconstruction turned out great, it looks natural, and I couldn’t wait to get rid of that hard and painful tissue expander and… my port. I am extremely grateful for how natural my breast looks, but what makes Dr. D so special is that when I was in the hospital, he watched me like a hawk, and I felt so cared for and taken care of. After my flap surgery, when I woke up, he was there. When I went to bed a night, he was there. When I woke up the next morning, he was there. Basically, the guy was just always watching over me when I was in the ICU. I was anxious about my breast cancer and the reconstruction, and he got me through it. I had the same concerns and anxiety about my facelift. My first concern was, how is the same guy who did my breast reconstruction going to do my facelift? Aren’t they totally different areas of the body? One of my friends had their eyes done by Dr. D and the other had her facelift done by him so I felt comfortable knowing that and I liked their results. Still, the face is a big deal, and I was anxious, but I was so bothered by my neck and the jowls from the years of stress in my life. Dr. D had the same concern for my facelift outcome as he did my breast reconstruction. I stayed over one night in the surgery center after my facelift. Same thing happened. When I went to sleep, he was there. When I woke up the next morning, he was there. I began to think that there are two of him. I had almost 0 pain and Dr. D was sensitive to the fact that I throw up a lot after anesthesia. He and the anesthesiologist took care of that, and I didn’t throw up once after. Dr. D listened to all of my concerns before surgery, and I look great. I don’t look tight, I don’t look surprised, and no one can tell I had a facelift. All of my friends and family just tell me that I look really refreshed, happy, and well-rested. I used to think that the most important thing was to save money for a new car. Forget that! The facelift is so much more fun!!

Had the consultation. Got the Estimate. Was asked if I want to go forward with procedure. I had additional questions regarding the procedure before I commit. I waited for clarification. Did not get my valid questions answered. A week later and Still no reply/answers to those questions from staff.

Ohhhh my goodness, I cannot say enough about Dr. Dickinson, HE'S THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!! Coming to him after having a botched reconstruction from a double mastectomy, I was beyond thankful for being referred to him, the man is magic. Dr. Dickinson is there for you from beginning to end, he actually listens, he's personable and has your best interest at hand. The moment my sister and I walked into his office, we felt the best welcoming energy, and with all that I've gone through, that feeling was more than needed. His staff: Monica, Nikkie and Jennifer, they have you feeling welcome and taken care of from start to finish, they're a fantastic team! If I could give more stars, I would in a heart beat...HE'S THE BEST!!!

Every stitch is a stitch of love. I lost both my breasts due to cancer in 2012. After being in remission for more than 5 years I decided to start researching breast reconstruction. My oncologist recommended Dr Dickinson. I started trying to make the correct decision a year ago. He and his staff were patient, caring and always clarifying my questions. On Aug 23 I underwent a Flap reconstruction on both my breasts. Today 9 days later, I feel amazing. So happy that I went ahead with this choice. My whole surgery was impeccably done, Dr Dickinson is a magician. Thank you to him and his whole team.

Dr. Dickinson and his staff are the nicest, friendliest doctors office there is! He spends time with you and never asks like he’s rushing to the next patient. He is extremely intelligent but acts so down to earth you wouldn’t know I less you start asking him questions and he gives you more answers than your team of doctors did put together. He worked with my surgeon for my double mastectomy and will be doing my final reconstruction when my breasts heal from radiation. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone for his kindness, and amazing results.

I was first introduced to Dr. Dickinson about 10 years ago, as I was inquiring about Botox and fillers for preventive measures. He was always very caring and patient, and I always felt amazing and got compliments from friends (and have gladly introduced Dr D to my family and friends). He has taken care of everyone I know (from rhinoplasty to lipo -- they all look amazing and felt their best after going to Dr D). He truly is a first class professional that exudes the utmost care and consistency. Furthermore, his team is unmatched from the service and follow up. I know I found my go to doctor/surgeon for life.

The idea of going into surgery invokes all sorts of ill feelings, however, Dr. Dickinson and his team made it an unexpectedly favorable experience. From the stellar bedside manner to the careful attention to all my needs, I am thoroughly impressed with the service. I genuinely appreciate the post surgery check ups and how much the staff was invested in my healing. The best part is that although it’s only been a short while since my surgery, I already love the results. My nose is starting to look better than anticipated.

Dr. D's bedside manner, medical expertise, and attention to detail are exceptional. He was kind and patient when I was nervous and asked him a million questions before I proceeded with my surgery. I love my new nose, and now my mother wants hers done by him too. He is an excellent doctor who phoned me daily to make sure I was healing well and happy with my results. His office girls are sweet and helpful, especially Jennifer. His patients are his #1 priority. You can just tell that he really cares. He will take care of you... he is also easy on the eyes. I am very happy that I chose him as my plastic surgeon.
