Dr. Brian P. Dumais, MD

I have three children who see another doctor in this practice. Several times, our doctor was not in and we had to see Dr. Dumais. I've never written a review about a doctor before but I felt compelled after these experiences. I'm a firm believer in giving someone the benefit of the doubt. So after being disappointed after the first time we saw him, I thought that maybe he deserved a second chance. He wasn't unpleasant, he was just incredibly condescending in the way he assumed that I was so inept at understanding simple things like the difference between ophthalmic drops and octic drops. I have fifteen years experience of being a mom and I have raised several of my siblings fifteen years prior to that. On every point during those three meetings, he dismissed my knowledge, despite it being concurrent with his own. On one occasion, he questioned me in regards to what kinds of chemicals I use in pool, as ph levels can affect the probability of ear infections in children. He was not… interested that I was aware of that, nor that my husband takes daily readings of our pool water. He felt compelled to talk over me and go on for quite some time about this topic. Yet another lesson that I didn't need. I believe that he is only trying to help his patients but his demeanor is that of a censuring adult speaking down to a child. It's almost as though he feels threatened when a patient claims to have an apt understanding of the medical needs of their child. Which is sad because who better to give you a first hand accounting of a child's health needs than their mother? And with that, I'd like to say that only things that 'I don't get" is his approach toward parents whom he obvious feels are incapable of caring for their own children due to their complete lack of common sense.

One Great nurse. Other nurse is rude and office staff Is rude. If you ever have an issue with your child they will not help you. They are more concerned with the money you give then the patient.

Dr Dumais and Dr Dwyer are wonderful with our children, very helpful, patient, and knowledgeable. Nursing staff are fantastic as well. Highly recommend!

Because our last doctor stopped taking HMO's we were forced to find another doctor. We did the research and got lots of recommendations from friends (including a doc friend) all had glowing reviews. Fast forward a few days into the Jan switch in which my son had a low grade fever for more than a few days. We call to schedule an appointment, my wife tells me he won't see him. I call back and the first lady I spoke with told me because they didn't have his records and he already had his "wellness" checkup for a two year old we couldn't see the doctor until May. I hope I wasn't rude on the phone but I explain I couldn't understand how we could possibly wait that long even if my son got sick again and because we are on an HMO plan- they need to tell me who I can see before May. I was placed on hold, another woman picked up. She remembered speaking to my wife and explained she "personally spoke with the doctor about what was happening" but he was completely booked for the next few… days and we still couldn't see him until we have the records sent. Her suggestion for seeing a doctor was the emergency room. I've thought long and hard about this review and its my hope to be contacted about this writing and for a positive experience for all to result. If anything, maybe, someone switching to another doctor will heed the warning of to make sure your records are sent to the new doctor before the switch happens. So far this experience leaves me wondering if I should have paid almost double in insurance to keep the previous doctor for my son. While she had strange hours- if your child was sick, they found away to get you into the office. Even if you had to wait four hours in the waiting room with your sick son. Yes, I waited four hours with my son in my arms most of the time because the office was so packed that all the seats were taken. *Moral of this story- If your switching doctors make sure you have the records sent before the switch happens!

Great doctor. Caring, gentle with the kids, mentions what areas my son is lagging/progressing in, asks if I have questions and makes sure hes answered everything before leaving the room. If I forget something and remember later, he is more than happy to answer before he heads into the next room. I never feel like I am rushed out the door by anyone in the office.

Dr. DuMais has taken care of my children since he opened his office 5 years ago. He is wonderful and my kids love him. He is very down to earth and easy to talk to. The staff is fantastic and kind. They always fit us in when my kids are sick. I also never feel that I can't call him with questions.

Exceptional! Dr. Dumais and his staff are always friendly, patient, and accomodating. Both of my children respond well to his kind bedside manner, and the staff is wonderful and very helpful! We have been going to Dr. Dumais for 4 years and we have always had positive experiences each and every time.

Anytime I call the office with a concern. My needs are listened to and addressed. My Girls love seeing him! When my daughter was born pre-mature,I knew I would have alot of questions. Dr. DuMais and staff genuinly care for the children they were their own! Who could ask for anything else!
