Great Doctor! Great Staff!

Doctor moved my surgery time up within 24 hours noticwithout any respect for the arrangements I made for family, pets etc. My sister was coming from out of town and she had to make arrangements too. I had taken 3 weeks vacation for surgery and follow up. I had to cancel. This after taking tests and lab work during the Christmas holidays. His nurse/coordinator made appt. for a test at Methodist for 9:00am and when I showed up, they informed me my appt. was 1:00pm. She at first wanted me to do this test on Christmas Eve morning. My endoscopy went well earlier in the month but there was no followup from the doctor and I definitely had questions about the results. The nurse hastily answered questions. Since this is not an emergency, I will find another doctor that can stick to a schedule and shows respect for your time.

Why is it that surgeons think they are GOD and talk down to a patient or not talk at all to a patient but to some guy they are training. Why is it that some doctors downplay a woman's symptoms even when an MRI shows otherwise. Do they hand pick a patient? Do they not like seniors? I could go to another State and have the much needed surgery but preferred being close to home and Methodist Hospital but if this is all that Methodist Hospital has to offer....I will take my chaces and not have surgery.at least not with this group.

First of all and unfortunately, Dr. Dunkin's staff just does not provide excellent customer service. On both occasions I have had to make appointments, somebody has taken a message and stated I would be called back. After more than 24 hrs, I have had to call back. Scheduling surgery also took a while and communication from the nurse was poor. I was called at the last minute about scheduling pre-op tests (EKG, chest xray, etc) at the last minute, which was stressful to me. For any individual, having surgery is a big deal. I understand that for medical staff who work with surgeries routinely, it may not feel like such a big deal. Dr. Dunkin's nurse seemed to minimize the surgery and recuperation, and seemed to be bothered about FMLA paperwork.The surgery day went without any issues. Hospital staff and surgery team were Excellent! My only other concern is the lack of follow up after surgery. Note that my concerns are not with Dr. Dunkin, but with the staff who worked with me.

Saw this doctor and he talked more to a Resident? Fellow? that was in the exam room, than me. No one shall be trained on me. I pay good money for top notch health care and I want the attention and courtesy that I deserve. I was extremely uncomfortable. I have an appt with another surgeon.

I had a delicate problem in an area. I am a female. This doctor brought another doctor in the room and I felt my rights as a patient were violated. I should of been asked if another doctor (young man)could be in the room with me. I would of rather had a nurse. I heemed and hawed and express my dislike but the doctor in training stayed right in there. I felt this was not a good visit with this surgeon. I will not see him again when I need the surgery.

I am a woman and went to this doctor for help and he decided without doing one single test on me that I didnt need anything but pain management and some months later I was haveing surgery for a severe blockage on my colon. I wasted my time and money going to him. Im sure he is a fine doctor if you need your tonsels out or something like that.
