Dr. Brian Patrick Harlin, MD

One star too many, to say the least. Despite the positive reviews, there is zero follow-up from this doctor, nor any interest in doing a complex surgery after a consult. As I experienced, the patient is left hanging, calls are not returned, and conditions resultantly worsen, leaving me to suffer. If you're looking for a surgeon who cares, this is not the place.

He is the nicest, knowledgeable Dr that I’ve ever dealt with. I’ve been going to him for years and I can’t image why people wouldn’t give him 5 Stars.

I was initially a patient of Dr Harlin's some years ago and had a very good experience and thankfully a successful outcome. Recently I was experiencing some discomfort, became concerned and asked him to call me. He did immediately, took a good deal of time talking to me and made me feel much less worried about my symptoms. He is a most excellent doctor, very committed to his patients, and also a very nice person, which may be just as important.

After over ten years of multiple doctors, procedures, and prescriptions, I finally found Dr. Harlin who gave me my life back. He LISTENED, cared, and prepared me for the reality of surgery. I am now cured, no longer in pain, and no longer take drugs. THANK YOU Dr. Harlin!

I went to the office at 33 E 35th Street. I was already very well informed about my case and Dr. Harlin took the time in providing me with all information around the subject. As a woman, I used to have my reservations about having a male doctor, but that has changed after this appointment. I wish all doctors were honest and professional like him, this should be the standard anywhere in the world.

The building 251 E 33rd looks abandon! Yellow caution tape draped the main entrance. The lobby hallway was filthy as was the 3rd floor offices! Rude staff at the front desk. This place was SO dirty I canceled my appointment on the spot. I've never seen a doctor's office so gross and smelly!!

He helped me with a complicated issue that no one else could figure out.

Dr. Harlin did a procedure to my husband a week ago. After the procedure my husband asked what to expect, what to eat, how to behave. The reply was that nothing special is needed and he can go to work right away. Husband returned home from the procedure in semi-unconscious state, had a week of agonizing pain. I found on internet that my husband’s response to the procedure is not abnormal; we had to figure out ourselves what medicine and how much to take in order to go thru the ordeal. I don’t understand why the doctor could not give printed instructions and prescriptions. I consider sending my husband home without information on what to expect is unprofessional behavior.

I went through a difficult experience with a difficult pathology and Dr Harlin made the experience a smooth process and we have had a great result. I trust him and have referred my family members for him to take care of.

Dr. Harlin seems like a nice person and correctly diagnosed me, but I did not trust him. He did NOT have a great bedside manner and was actually quite unprofessional. I was upset because he did not discuss alternative existing procedures with me that were statistically more effective and could be a more efficient resolution to my problem. He failed to give me a careful estimate of recovery time, demonstrating a lack of empathy for his patients. When I asked questions, he did not give me rational answers, but made inappropriate jokes that were just plain patronizing, and I had to press him for an explanation. His office staff with the exception of one employee was rude - when I called with additional questions or asked about paperwork, I was given attitude. He also never called me back with test results. Awful experience - would never go back.
