...and my two youngest sons would not have been born. In short, I had a massive headache that lasted for days and then suddenly had double vision. The next day I saw two different doctors, neither of which could diagnose it, but ordered a CAT scan 5 days later saying that maybe I had a sinus infection that maybe was putting pressure on a nerve. A mutual friend told Dr. Herman about my symptoms and he said that I must call him immediately. I did so, Dr. Herman asked me a few questions, then told me that I needed to have an MRI immediately as he thought I had an aneurysm that was about to burst and if so, would most likely not be alive for my scheduled CAT scan. I had the MRI and it revealed that I had a 5cm dissection of my carotid artery with an aneurysm at one end, and I had only 5% blood flow in that artery. I was literally on the precipice. Thanks to Dr. Hermon's brilliance, I am alive today, 15 years later.

On Jan 14 1993. Dr Herman reviewed my cath film at St Peters Hospital in Albany NY. When asked about getting a second opinion his answer was”Sure, but if It disagrees my my evaluation then it would be wrong.”

Dr Herman treated me at Eisenhower Medical Center. He was very thorough from beginning to end.
