Dr. Brian T Hoops, DDS

We (2 adults over 55) have been going to Dr. Hoops for 15 years. He and his staff have always been polite and concerned for our wellbeing while we were at his office. He is especially skilled at desensitizing nerves to teeth that require drilling/filling/crowning. Better, in fact, than any dentist I’ve ever had in a long and painful history of dental work with at least 4 other dentists (none around Washington County). The hygienists at his office have also been very skilled and attentive. The receptionist & biller was accommodating and polite when we needed to reschedule appointments and would send us a useful reminder before scheduled cleanings. I notice 3 of the critical reviews on this site have the same date and very similar wording, possibly from the same source. The experience that’s described is horrific and I’m sorry they had it. We never had, saw or heard any behavior like that while we were there thankfully.

Worst experience. Dr hoops is the most unprofessional and rudest doctors I’ve ever met. I was treated so poorly by him. I had to wait over a month for an appointment because it got rescheduled two times on their end and each time they made me wait an additional two weeks. I got x rays done when I arrived and then was told by dr hoops that he didn’t have time to do anything else. Not even one filling. He also couldn’t even tell me how many cavities I have after looking at x rays. He said he has no idea. After being clearly upset about him not being able to do any work he got in my face and yelled at me telling me he hasn’t been able to work bc of the virus so he doesn’t care that I waited a month for my appointment. I walked right out. I have never been treated so poorly. I walked out disgusted by him and the whole experience. I’m grateful I didn’t have him do any work.

I’ve never had a worse experience at a doctors office. Dr hoops was the most unprofessional and rudest person. I was yelled at by him, got the nastiest attitude and he couldn’t tell me how many cavities I have even after doing x rays. He said “some”. After getting x rays done which took about 5 minutes I was told he didn’t have time to do any fillings and that id have to come back. So after waiting over a month all I got was x rays. I have never been treated with such disrespect and I’m grateful I didn’t get any work done by this man. I would not recommend my worst enemy to go here.

I will never step foot in there and I hope no one else has to experience what I did. I am so grateful I didn’t let him touch my teeth.

Found billing and office staff to be less than helpful, rude, and absolutely unwilling to work with us. Their mistake on billing, they went back on what they had said on the phone (two separate occasions), and caused over us over 50 miles (one way) trip arrive and be told "sorry, your here on the wrong day". We had the appointment card in hand...they didn't offer any apologies and/or reimbursement of lost time. A sincere apology on that would have gone a long way...
