Dr. Hummel performed multiple (4) open heart procedures on me correcting some issues that have plagued me most of my 71 years. Five weeks after surgery I returned daily activities. Dr. Hummel and his team have been outstanding.

Dr. Hummel did a TAVR procedure for me last week. The surgery was a complete success and now 5 days post Op, no discomfort at all. Thanks for a job well done!

Excellent surgeon. He performed 2 surgeries on me in 2010 or 2011. Great communicator and healer.

I was a patient of Dr. Hummel and had emergency 6 bypass surgery almost 20 years ago. Thanks to Dr. Hummel, I'm around to see my grandchildren get married and see the birth of three great-grandchildren.

For the two negative reviews I read, I do believe Dr Hummel goes over the risks and possibilities of complications of these procedures. Also age probably has a lot to do with the risks, that being said, He is a wonderful surgeon who dedicates every day to his pts and practice and focuses on the well being of the pt. I don't believe for one second he left the patient on the table bleeding to leave for vacation. He has many, many pts requesting to see him and many come back after yrs of having surgery, simply to thank him for saving their lives. So please don't base your opinions on one or 2 reviews. Not ALL surgeries by ANY surgeon is successful. !!!

Dr. Hummel performed my surgery and I can't say enough wonderful things about him. He cares about his patients with compassion and tenderness. To me he is what every doctor should be....genuine, compassionate, and highly skilled. God bless him for saving my life. What a gifted surgeon Dr. Hummel is!

This guy did a valve repair on my aunt-Sent her home with the understanding if she is leaking, it is an emergency situation. She called and called and called-was ignored by him-she had a Poise pad on her wound because it was gushing out of her. One of his associates opened her up to "repair" her valve-she still leaked-opened her up again to "repair" her valve-she still leaked-opened up a third time and FINALLY replaced the valve-for those keeping count-she was on the table for 9 1/2 hours and had open heart surgery 3 times!!!! I don't know why she is still alive-but she is in horrible shape now-weak as a kitten, she can't stand up by herself, she can't walk, feed herself-no quality of life right now. In a rehab place in Hollywood, FL-he better hope she recovers enough to have a quality of life-stay away from this man at all costs!

Hummel did heart valve surgery on my wife. He left on vacation. She immediately started bleeding and was brain dead within 36 hours. The man did not know what he was doing.

Dr. Hummel performed a triple bypass and all facets of the surgery went very well. He's a very busy guy, but checked-in on me in the hospital every morning between 7 and 8 am. Had one follow-up appt. at his office where I met with his P.A. The surgery was 9 weeks ago and I am 98% recovered with no complications.

Dr. Hummel did an excellent job with my mother's surgery. There was some disappointment afterwards when appointments were cancelled or changed. This caused anxiety in my 86 year old mother. To be fair, his office did say that he had to fit in an operation so it is understandable. Maybe a more compassionate office staff person might have helped. the bottom line is he did a great job with the surgery and my mother is walking a mile at 86 years old after only 4 weeks. I would give the doctor and outstanding. Personnel a little less favorable rating.
