Dr. Brian Johnson, MD

This is not a real psychiatrists office. It's a training center for med students learning this profession at the expense of ill people who need actual help from a professional. At your first appointment they force u to be used as an example in a room with about 10 med students who stare at you like you're from Mars. Dr. Johnson after, has you fill out a paper form where you fill in things you suffer from. He immediately diagnosed me with "severe autism," which i do not have. After that you're forced to hold your arm in a cooler full of ice for 3 minutes "to test your opioid receptors." He then throws a pill at you that did absolutely nothing, more like a placebo. Dr. Johnson then comes into the room with a student and asks you to start trying therapy. He has zero communication skills and he and the student just stare at you waiting for you talk. I tried this for a month talking about nothing helpful or important, these kids havent been through life enough yet to even understand how to… help people. So, you talk to one student for a month and suddenly there is a new student after a month. The doctor and student then again stare at you in silence waiting for you to say something, and you have to repeat everything to the next student all over again. This is NOT a psychiatrists office. It's a training center for students at your expense. I regret ever walking into this office. I now have a bunch of bills to pay, when I should be the one getting paid to train these students. Dr. Johnson is pompous and arrogant. He made a diagnosis for our child (a diagnosis that is usually only made after long term treatment and consideration for the age of the child and confounding factors) after only having her fill out a paper survey and meeting with her for 15 min. and then despite ongoing difficulties, deemed her "cured" after 8 months of treatment. She is far from "cured." but I am sure this serves as a "win" for Dr. Johnson in his log book and with the insurance provider, based on his perception that she is "cured.". He also suggested in front or our child to sue another local psychologist and on another occasion questioned and criticized the care for another provider who we had a 2 year ongoing professional relationship that had been beneficial. In any professional setting berating your colleagues is not considered acceptable practice, especially in front your patients/clients.

I saw dr Johnson early 2020 for addiction to benzodiazepine. I was very motivated to remove this drug from my life. Dr Johnson being in charge of my treatment had me off the drug in less than a week. He is amazing he is smart he is a great listener. I could not recommend him enough. I can’t imagine a score less than a 5.0 he is a wonderful man who gets results if somebody really wants resales. I cannot say enough good things about him He’s a GREAT guy. Go see him you will be happy you did

I have read some very negative comments about Dr Johnson and I wish to set the record straight. Dr Johnson is a very intelligent, competent, caring, professional and sympathetic, with decades of experience. He has helped me tremendously with proper medication and hours of therapy allowing me to take down my defensive walls and my thinking has become more realistic and rational. Drugs had effected me so seriously that I had trouble thinking and perceiving reality. I had ADHD and depression so bad I spent years avoiding life, people and responsibilities. With the medication and therapy sessions with Dr Johnson I have made a lot of progress and still have further to go. I can only assume that those with negative reviews had personality conflicts or preconceived notions about how therapy should approach the problem. I believe that the patient themselves were the problem and not DR Johnson. I would recommend Dr Johnson and give him 5 stars and my personal sincere thanks. Thank you Dr… Johnson from E.B.

I have been seeing Dr. Johnson for quite some time, for depression, and have found him to be a very kind and compassionate individual. I enjoy his very straight forward manner, and gentle sense of humor. He has helped me not only with my mental health issuses, but also pain management ones also. I highly recommend him as a Dr., and as a wonderful human being.

I went as a support person and we were both confused. He seemed to only push his agenda. The appointment started out good, the no was competent but the arm in the bucket of ice is rather barbaric. The interview took place at a very long table in front of 10 people! Dr Johnson spoke in such a manner I was unable to understand what he said. Ended up after asking the np to explain in plain English. Sorry I'm not a professor of medicine...over all left very confused and disappointed..

This doctor will make you strip naked and say this is a sign of coming clean and facing life without drugs. I will never go again.

His office refused to elaborate on their pain management program so we went and were very disappointed. His "diagnosis" contradicted several other doctor's and his methods are abhorrent, he performed an exam on my wife in a board room in front of a dozen sleeping college students and insisted all pain is in your head. He is also obsessed with how long you can hold your arm in ice water....he wanted us to return weekly and see how long my wife could hold her arm in ice water...

It was a very strange way to have to get an appointment first off. I was first interrogated politely for His Majesty and with my friend present then I got to meet the King of minds. I assume this, we sized each other up pretty quick and decided we didn't click! besides that, he was the was the rudest person I have met in years. He has a row of students watching him while the nice interrogator reads to him. you have to be really messed up for him to "TAKE YOU ON"OR Play his game

Wants patients to participate in research studies for his own satisfaction! Sees everyone as a drug seeker and addict. Will indicate untrue information in your medical record! Crazy nut!
