Wonderful Dr tells you everything in details ask questions and listens

I had waited months for an appt with this supposedly caring dr. He was nasty, condescending, spoke down to me. Held his hand up stopping me when he didnt want to to speak . I've never met such a rude dr.. .actually never met such a rude person. I could barely speak for fear of crying. I never felt so low, so much like a child being scolded. The nurse and receptionist were nice....they spoke to me as I was leaving. I couldn't speak to anyone. I couldnt answer their questions. I just wanted to get out. I drove home an hour in tears. I'm still in disbelief that someone in his profession could be so unkind and truly uncaring.

Make sure to verify which location you are being sent to when you call for an apt. I called the Marymount location thinking I was going there. When I showed up a 1/2 hour early mind you for the apt. They were confused as he was not at that location but the Independence location. The nurse told me not to worry about it that happens all the time and I rushed over to the Independence location. I was 10 minutes late and told them what happened and apologized about being late. The nurse told me I was lucky because usually he does not see patients that are late. As soon as the Dr. came into the room I again apologized and before I could finish, he was very snotty and scolded me like a child. That made me feel very uncomfortable. He scheduled me for a upper and lower GI and about a week later I called and canceled it as the more I thought about the experience I had with him in the office, the more uncomfortable I was about having him perform the procedure. It took me 6 months of off and on… vomiting and diarrhea to even make that apt. to see him. I have anxiety with having to go see Dr.s and it has been almost a year and I have not gone to another one. I am still having bouts of vomiting etc. and know I have to get this done. Hopefully the next Dr. will have a better bedside manner because I have never been treated that way before by a Dr. Hopefully Dr. Kirsh's nurses will do a better job clarifying to patients which location they are sending people to.

I have known Dr. Kirsh for over eight years. I have seen him in action in the hospital setting, and I was very impressed with his delightful, caring, and compassionate bedside manner. I have been his patient for about seven years, and have been very happy with him. He listens to everything YOU have to say; he then asks YOU quite a few questions, but the questions are very important to your care, and he can learn a lot from YOU. He is kind, very thorough, and takes care of your issues right away; whether it be medications or diagnostic testing. He does not make you keep coming back for follow-up after follow-up to start treating you. The help starts virtually right away. To me their is no other. If you want answers, and a Doctor that will keep in touch, Dr. Kirsh is your man!!
