Dr. Brian E Lacy, MD

Dr. Lacy battered and SA’d me in front of two witnesses (an MA and my mother). When Mayo found out, they stated there was “literature” to support what he had done was “simply show me how to use a suppository”. He did this by forcibly placing my right handhand in an O shape (I have EDS and my joints in my hands hurt badly) and stuck his fingers in the O-shape and began moving them vigorously up and down, I tried to yank my wrist away. He then harshly moved his fingers in circular motions in my now aching hand, while I continued trying to yank my arm away from him. Risk management said they did an investigation and it was over now. When the “literature” was requested by both myself and patient services, they stated I would never be getting their “internal literature”. He left marks on my hands and wrist, where he would not let go. Bc of how the office is set up, he had my hand under the desk and to the side so my mother couldn’t see until I burst into tears. He then released my hand and… left the room abruptly. The MA and my mother rushed to me but I couldn’t stop shaking and crying. He had known I have a trauma history from the beginning of the session, as he asked about it specifically. He also stated in his notes it was telehealth so he “didn’t do a physical exam”. Mayo said it was autofilled, but I’m happy to post all versions of the notes (it’s illegal to change clinical notes), including the hand written ones he wrote, that I have. I am chronically ill and had attended Mayo for 5 years. I beg everyone who is chronically ill or the parent of, DO NOT let ANY vulnerable populations NEAR this man. And know that Mayo cares much more about money and doctor protections than protecting patients.

Had first appointment. He ordered tests for me at the conclusion of the appointment. He requested that I schedule the tests and a follow-up video visit after the tests were performed. I scheduled the tests. Then, I called the office to schedule the follow-up video visit. He and his staff refused to schedule the video visit, and he would not provide an "order" to his staff for me to schedule the video visit. Mayo should request his resignation.

This doctor is horrible. He has no regard for his patients and, having harmed one of them, denied it and has altered medical records calling them supplements. He has no empathy and should be disciplined.

Bad experience, could not did the reason of my pain and didn’t give directions!

I loved Dr. Lacy’s manner of speaking to me, before performing my colonoscopy. His mellow voice and warm smile disarms you and makes you very comfortable. He appeared self assured, but not arrogant. I received a good feeling about him.

Life saver!

I went to see Dr. Lacy after 4 previous gastroenterologists were unable or unwilling to make accurate, integrative diagnoses regarding my multiple, decades-long GI issues. Dr. Lacy had clearly read all of the paperwork I had sent him in advance, as I noticed he had made multiple notes on previous reports. He listened attentively to me as I described my symptoms and experiences with previous doctors, asked me many thoughtful questions about both my GI health and my overall health, and took copious notes as we spoke. He was able to find an underlying cause to everything I was experiencing, validated my concerns, and took the time to explain to me in-depth what my conditions were, what was connecting them, and how to address them. He spent nearly an hour and a half listening to me, having a meaningful dialogue with me, and physically writing me out an extensive plan to help me get better. All of this was done with exceptional compassion, an excellent bedside manner, and a genuine… interest in me and not simply diagnosing me, but also to help empower me with the tools to set me on a path to wellness. I was extremely impressed by Dr. Lacy, not only with his diagnostic excellence, but with the compassion and personal attention he provided to me as a patient and to my partner as my Healthcare partner. He is the first doctor to give me genuine hope that I will be a ble to lead a healthier, illness- and pain-free life from here on out. I would recommend him in a heartbeat.

Very professional, courteous, and respectful!

I sent in medical records including actual MRI's & CT scans two weeks prior to an appointment. When I arrived he thanked me for bringing the medical records in that day. He had never looked at them. He did have a 2 page print out of notes, and stated there was no evidence of anything wrong from what he saw from his report. And, yes, no one has been able to identify the medical problem this past 4 years. He said I needed a 2 weeks vacation and I was just stressed and here is a prescription for anti-depressants! If you are trying to find a doctor to identify a difficult medical issue, this person is not the one to see.

I suffered swelling of the stomach as if I was pregnant for approx. 6 months, ending up in ER several times, could never see the gastrologist that was on call. I was in extreme pain. My gastrologist was on vacation, stomach swell, called ofc. Dr. on call told me to come to ER again, saw ER Dr. very professional however never seen a gastrologist, The next day called Mayo Clinic told the nurse my situation, she placed me on hold for 3-5 minutes. This was Thursday she said she had talked to a gastrologist and to be at Mayo Clinic the following Tue. Dr. Lacey talked with me approx 1 hour explaining what was going on. He had already studied my records he received from the hospital and my gastrologist. Gave me two bottles of capsules to try, 1 a day and Miralax with water in after dinner. started working in three days with no pain....I would give him a 10 + should they rate that way....Recommend to my family, friends and etc...
