Dr. Brian D Mahany, DO

I am a registered nurse and have been seeing Dr. Mahany for several years now. Of all the doctors I have worked with Dr. Mahany is one of the best! He is invested in the care of his patients. I credit him with saving my life. I found a lump above my right breast about 5 years ago when I was 34. My OB at the time blew it off as a cyst and asked me to monitor it. I pointed it out to Dr. Mahany a month later who promptly ordered a mammogram. I was diagnosed about a week later with Stage 2 breast cancer. It was a highly aggressive type and I am so thankful that he took my concern so seriously when other providers did not. He was so supportive during treatment, and I felt very well taken care of during that journey through cancer. He was also one of the few doctors that I worked with at McLaren that were understanding and concerned when I had to contact him in the middle of the night regarding one of his patients. He was one of a handful of doctors that did not get upset, but was… genuinely grateful for the consult. For a nurse that is a amazing and one of the reasons I chose him as my PCP. It will be a vary sad day when he retires.

If you like your doctor to be logical and rational Dr. Mahany is he man for you. His diagnosis is usually spot on and his explanations give you the comfort of understanding the diagnosis.

I was a patient for several years, but felt doctor was consistently not "tuned in" to what I was saying to him. I frequently left the office feeling foolish for complaining about symptoms he wasn't interested in. My husband likes him, and it may be that doctor takes men more seriously. I am much happier since I changed doctors.
