If it was possible to give a 0 star rating I would. Effectively, Dr. Maneevese fail to offer proper treatment to my wife but also was very unprofessional. Our visit ended with him screaming profanities in the hallway while we politely asked him to leave our room. A nurse had to ask him to walk away. The rest of the staff was kind and professional this took place at HCA fairmont- HCA Houston ER 24/7. My wife needed emergency surgery 5 days after leaving this “doctors” care.

I had an unfortunate encounter with Dr Maneevese at the East Houston Regional medical center. I was admitted for chest pain, after about 3 hours there, Dr. Maneevese declared I was constipated(according to his report and the papers he gave me to bring home). I actually saw the doctor after about 1:30 to 2hrs in the ER. The next day I when to see my family doctor who was able to diagnose a GERD crisis just after talking with me. My doctor also explain that the symptoms can sometimes feel like a heart attack which explains why I was in so much pain. The worst is that I am being balanced billed by Dr. Maneevese for a level 5 emergency room visit at a rate 6 times higher than the customary fees of $336 per the healthcarebluebook website and the CMS website for the same services in that zip code. Just because they can use patients to coerce the insurance to pay them these outrageous bills shoudn't be a reason to send out these. That's one of the reasons driving the medical costs up every… single year. To use CPT code 99285 for billing, the presenting problem(s) during an emergency room visit are expected to include the following: medical conditions that are of high severity, are potentially life threatening, and require the immediate attention of a physician. Services for constipation, earaches and colds, for example, should not be billed using CPT code 99285.
