Dr. Brian Masao Miyagishima, MD

Dr. Myagishima has been our family doctor for over 20 years. He is a great friend who really knows hid profession. His staff is friendly and efficient.

I love this Dr he had a heart and is the best in town and his staff is awesom.

I have been seeing Dr. Miyagishima for 5 years now. I have always been happy with his bedside manner, and how well he listens to patient concerns/questions. However, today will be my absolute last visit due to his HORRIBLE office staff. The past four visits have been awful, I've been treated rudely, and the unprofessional manner is ridiculous. I hate to lose a great doctor, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way. Ever since they moved to Main St. Its gone down hill

He was a good doctor until he sold out to Dignity Health, which is the last thing you get there is Dignity, Ironic though. Office staff sucks. If you like paying to get treated like crap, then this is your place.

I was a patient for ten years. Very satisfied. Then, this past year he joined a group practice affiliated with Marian Hospital. It was straight downhill after that. I was unable to reach his office by phone. I was assured by the office manager, that they were working on it. 6 months later, it was not fixed. I needed an appointment and couldn't get a call back. Their voice mail says leave a message and we'll get back to you within a certain time frame. It didn't happen. I am very disappointed because I received excellent treatment from Dr. M for 10 years; but with the office set up as it is now, I would NOT RECOMMEND this practice for anyone, particularly if you have chronic disorders such as asthma or others that need swift intervention.

Very mild mannered and gentle, Dr. Miyagishima is an excellent doctor and a great choice in family practitioners. I highly recommend him after 7 years under his care.

Dr. Miyagishima was my primary care doctor for over 9 years. I ended up after about 7 years with no health insurance. When I was attempting to become enrolled in California Covered insurance I asked his Office Manager if they would accept it. She told me only if it was a PPO. So, I made sure that I was enrolled in a PPO (which has turned out to be good insurance.). One day, after I received my PPO insurance card, I called Dr. Miyagishima's office for an appointment. When I arrived, I presented my insurance card and the Office Manager informed me that my insurance in fact was not accepted because they did not "accept state mandated insurance." She did say however, that since I was a long standing patient I could sign a form that gave me options on how I planned to pay for my visit. I would not sign the form as I did not want to agree to pay any more than a co-pay since I pay monthly for my insurance. Therefore, I left without seeing the doctor and informed the office manager… that I would find another provider. I was hurt, disappointed, embarrassed and humiliated. I know that the "mandated" insurance is a sore subject with our country and I am more than sympathetic. However, I am 2 years away from being eligible for medicare and I really need to have good insurance that I can afford until medicare can take over. I have learned that doctors do not get paid enough money from "state mandated" insurance and they don't like that. I am sympathetic but let's face it, state mandated insurance patients are not their only patients. They have other patients with higher paying insurance and at least they are getting some money from the lower paying insurance companies. I have been turned away by several doctors including my specialist who had been treating me regarding my gall bladder. Since I have this insurance he will not see me as a patient any more. Does the medical community really think this is in keeping with the Hippocratic oath?

Dr. should hire new Office Manager

He is a very nice doctor and takes he time with you. The staff was wonderful and helped answer all questions I had. I did not have to wait for more than 10 min.. He even had his assistant call me to see how I was doing. She is very sweet and concerned. I would refer people to him definitely.

Awesome doctor! I have been his patient for 6 years, He always takes his time with me. Gotta love Dr. Miyagishima. He's a caring and wonderful doctor.
