Would not answer my questions and twice walked out of the office while I was speaking to him. When I finally said that I would like him to address my concerns he refused to answer me saying my referring physician would be receiving his report. In the literature for his clinic Multicare Pain Management, it states that the first visit will be "about 60 minutes" and "the focus of the initial appointment will be to gain a thorough understanding of your pain problem, discuss our impressions with you and develop recommondations for your future care." In fact none of this happened. Given Dr. Ready's dismissive nature I asked if he had the records from my previous pain management physician and my surgeon. The answer was most troubling: he had no such records and would not need them when I offered to get them to him immediately. Since I was (initially) very pleased to be seeing him and remained polite throughout, I have reached two conclusions based on how and when his treatment of me changed.… 1. It was clear that he thought I was poor and stupid, 2. Patients should never question a doctor. Since every mainstream medical advocasy resource advises patients to be informed and ask questions I can only conclude that this doctor and his staff feel that the poor should be thankful and meekly accept substandard treatment. You get what you pay for when you are on the Washington Basic Health Plan: little to nothing.
