Summary
Dr. Richardson was born in Chicago but moved to Denver at age four. He grew up in Greenwood Village and attended Cherry Creek High School. During his time at Creek he developed an interest in astronomy, building an obversatory with his dad, as well as earning his private pilot's license at the age of 17. Despite his desire to pursue a career in aviation, his father and grandfather, both airline pilots, recommended he dabble in a different profession. With both parents being diagnosed with cancer while he was in high school, Dr. Richardson decided to stay close to home to further his education. He elected to earn his Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics at The Colorado College, in Colorado Springs. While there he was president of his fraternity and captain of the golf team. After graduating college, Dr. Richardson was certain he did not want to "crunch numbers" his whole life so he turned to a couple of neighbors for guidance; one the long time family dentist and the other a well respected …professor at the CU School of Dentistry. With their help, he began work as a dental assistant/office manager at a geriatric dental clinic for the underserved in Denver. Through this position he saw the inner workings of the field of dentistry and the compassion and sincerity with which the providers cared for their patients. This is something Dr. Richardson has carried with him to this day in his treatment of patients. In 1995 Dr. Richardson enrolled at the University of Colorado School of Dentistry and earned recognition for his care to underserved populations while there. In 1995 he received his dental degree and opted to continue his education at University Hospital in a General Practice Residency. During residency, Dr. Richardson received advanced training in surgical procedures along with treating medically compromised patients. While attending dental school, Dr. Richardson worked on expanding his knowledge of running a dental practice by earning his Masters in Business Administration at the University of Colorado. Having an MBA has helped Dr. Richardson in the day to day operations of owning and maintaining a small business. Dr. Richardson enjoys business as a hobby and helps other dentists through his practice management consulting company. Professionally, Dr. Richardson maintains active memberships in the American Dental Association, The Colorado Dental Association and the Metropolitan Denver Dental Society. Dr. Richardson resides in Highlands Ranch and enjoys golfing, traveling, and spending time with his young daughter Grace. He also continues to be involved with the Cancer League of Colorado, where he has been an active participant since high school and has served on the Corporate Board.
