Dr. Brian Joseph Rodgers, DO

Dr. Rodgers is truly an expert in hormone balancing and functional medicine. He shoots straight and tells you exactly how it is which I really appreciate.

To the people that wrote the first few comments I don't understand why you are all hating on Dr Rodgers I have been going to dr. Rodgers now for a very long time and he has always been firm but at the same time fair I also at one point in time got kicked out of his office but that was my own fault and I am man enough to admit that I called him on the phone one day the after-hours phone and he answered and I had a conversation with him asking him if there was any way I could get back in to his practice and he gave me a chance to do that and he ended up taking me back. so is he firm yes but is he also Fair absolutely! he has always been a great doctor for me and he is not afraid to call you out when you need to be called out on something. I know enough about him after going to him for so long that he would not just kick someone out of his practice without a valid reason, he is a good doctor.

Just a give you medication and get you out the door kind of MD. Gave me medication he shouldnt have and now Im addicted. Wouldn't recommend

Review.. I have been seeing Doctor Brian Rogers at the Bountiful Family Health Clinic for about 10 years. It's sad to see the turn it's taken. He was always attentive, not no more? If your impoverished and can't buy the new line of Holistic Medicines being pushed, he has no time for you. Dr Rogers being in the seemingly important position he holds "Owner/Doctor" should easily be able to review notes left by his assistants that pertain to my.. or someone else's health condition wouldn't you think? Especially if the notes and UA's have gone on for months and are absolutely obvious to the matter at hand? Matter of fact he should probably review the staff Notes to see how I am doing medically, or even emotionally given the fact he is my Primary Care Doctor & I am a terminal patient? I would believe he would take the time to review staff notes! Wouldn't you prefer your notes are gone over by YOUR DOCTOR if you are not directly seen by him? I would expect my Doctor to do it, especially… being the only Doctor there. Well that was not the case with me, guess his mistake is my fault? Laughable! A Mistake was being made for many months because of his lack of communication with his staff, and apparent inability to review notes pertaining to my health care file. Hence the name Bountiful Family Health Care, Hopefully his assistant didn't get punished? The Assistant I gladly give 5 stars to ?? ???????? She is amazing and Thank You! My review and opinion though is business and the owner & practices. The man has no restraint on his temper. This is not the first time I have come under his undeserving wrath! My wife defended me on the 1st occasion she was in tears. My honest advice is stay away! No need to serve me on the $24 Dollars I owe you. I will be in ASAP when you are there. Now say maybe i'm wrong? "I'm not" If by chance I am the one in the wrong my defence is. I AM IN THE ADVANCED STAGES OF HEART FAILURE . END STAGE HEART FAILURE is known to lead to Confusion Disorientation also forgetfulness especially when patient is nearing Death. Anyone can google that and see the result.2 Symptoms that I continuously have talked about, but is not even considered as a possibility in their mistake. That would be bad to have a patient who was not all there mentally because of a sickness. So let's place the expectation on the sick patient that they are all 100% responsible to know what medications mix with what, and add to that the patient better know the laws pertaining to physicians. That's not the case though. It's not my responsibility to make you review the notes. Apparently in this clinic the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing, so lets make it the patients fault and kick him/her out when you make a mistake! Works for you I guess? His displays of anger are pathetic & childish. Own what's yours! With the new office it kind of has the timeshare feel to it. Needs my slot for someone NOT on Medicaid to step in to generate a little more revenue? Well I got my Removal Letter thanks! Seriously this guy is Scary! Find a better Clinic. This is not the end, I will not be your Victim, or your scapegoat to explain what happened when questioned! Got it? I don't believe for a moment you are that inept! I'm not. Let's see how this turns out. It's 100% obvious who is in the wrong. Not me!

Dr. Rodgers was my primary care physician years ago. He diagnosed me and treated me for a sexually transmitted disease that I didn't end up having. Not only was he wrong about the STI, he had a long conversation with my teenage self about how my boyfriend was probably cheating on me and that's where I contracted the disease. That boyfriend is now my husband and now an MD himself and I realize now how out of place he was. At the time I was so young and naive that I listened to Dr. Rodgers. He is totally incompetent, disrespectful and inappropriate. It's not a doctor's place to tell a teenager that their boyfriend is cheating on them even if that had been the case. Find an MD and not a DO.

Dr. Rodgers really tries to get to the root of my healthcare problems. He doesnt just prescribe medicine but is thorough to find a cure. He doesnt just look for a quick fix. I appreciate this so much. A breath of fresh air for the healthcare field in Bountiful.

Dr. Rodgers is a wonderful doctor. He listened to my concerns and took the time to explain a care plan to me that fit me perfectly. It wasn't a generic plan used for all patients but one that was carefully thought out and considered for MY needs. It has been a great healthcare experience.

I rarely leave reviews, but I think it’s important if it might benefit another person by doing so. And I feel like I can give an honest and very thorough review after a decade. This review is lengthy, but I think it’s important to be detailed for a reader to know if a physician fits their needs. I initially went to Dr. Brian Rodgers over 10 yrs ago when someone recommended him to get off prescriptions for pain and anxiety that were causing physical dependence, horrible side effects, and more problems than they were solving. This isn’t as simple as it sounds, as I suffer from a genetic spine disease that causes constant pain, a nervous system disorder that produces unnaturally high pain signals and anxiety, and have ended up with several fractures and surgeries as the years have progressed that absolutely required treatment for pain. My only experience in the past was having narcotics and benzodiazepines prescriptions just thrown at me with no thought as to the long-term outcome of… doing so. Working with Dr. Rodgers was the first time I’d felt “safe” in 20 years. At first, I was just hoping and trusting he’d do what was in my best interest for both the short and long-term in each individual situation. As the years progressed though, and in retrospect, I can tell you that he has done just that. Some of his suggestions and decisions were things I wasn’t necessarily happy with at the time either! LOL. Change is overwhelming and scary, especially when you are feeling ill, so I needed someone who could make those calls for me when I didn’t necessarily know what was best for myself...or simply didn’t want to go through changes that were difficult but would end up being in my best interest in the future. I feel grateful for the push he gave me toward achieving better health, and for both recommendations and decisions he made on my behalf to get there. I think Dr. Rodgers is a “healer”, and sees himself as one as well. Yes, all doctors SHOULD be such, but the ugly truth is that the health care system in this country is NOT set up to either encourage or reward doctors for getting to the root causes of illness and actually heal people. It is set up to treat symptoms and keep patients in the revolving doors of office visits, pharmaceuticals, and the continuous office and hospital visits that result when no root changes are being made to address things. I think doctors that actually want to heal people these days have to change their mindset and the way they practice medicine to accomplish this, and even realize that they might make a little less money doing so in the long run. Yes, Dr. Rodgers can and will use necessary prescriptions, but what I like about him is that he is more interested in actually getting you better. Most illnesses and disease have their roots in poor diet, lack of exercise, and deficiencies in needed vitamins and minerals. I had the goal of getting off as many prescriptions as I could, and it’s amazing what can be treated by making changes in diet and by adding quality, natural supplements and changing a sedentary lifestyle. We should all want to decrease the need for pharmaceuticals that aren’t necessary, and I know that if you want to do that it can absolutely be done and he can help you do it. I was on over 10 prescriptions when I started seeing him, and I am now on only on 4 daily ones (1 of those I'm almost off of now) and my overall health and ability to deal with chronic pain and genetic issues with no cure yet have improved dramatically. He has advanced training in getting patients off of addictive substances without losing their ability to function during the process. He is trained in hormone replacement therapy. As a D.O. he has more training than most medical doctors in the muscles, joints, and skeleton, and in looking at the body in a holistic approach to healing, which was imperative for me as my struggles either initiate in or affect these areas. He was great at adjusting my spine, and though I don’t do those much anymore, I was happier with the adjustments he gave me compared to any past chiropractor I’ve been to. I’d never go to a chiropractor again, because he can not only what they do as well or better, but has all the additional medical skills and knowledge to go with it that could be a benefit. There is always a female P.A. working with him, so if a patient feels more comfortable being seen by a female always, or just for yearly or other exams, it’s really the best of both worlds having them work together in the same office. Natalie is awesome, very intelligent and well trained, and I’ve seen her quite a bit too and totally recommend her either on her own or in tandem with Dr. Rodgers as I see her. The other staff in the office have been nothing but positive, helpful and kind over the years. I've referred several people to him over the past few years, and I recently referred my adult daughter to him, knowing that she would have a positive experience there and that if anyone could help her with her specific health struggles, it would be him. A mother’s trust and faith in a physician is probably the best review or compliment of all. He's not afraid of a challenging patient, or of learning more about an issue if he needs to do so in order to help you properly. I hope this review helps someone who may be looking for the things I was in a healthcare provider but hasn't found one that fits their needs yet. I wish everyone a happy and healthy life journey. :)

Very helpful doctor. I feel like he takes the time to understand my problems, and doesn't just try to prescribe me drugs and get me out as fast as possible.

His office failed to use a lab facility that was contracted with my insurance, so the claims for hundreds of dollars worth of routine blood-work was denied by insurance.
