Dr. Brian C Schafer, MD

Dr. Schafer has replaced both of my very painful arthritic knees, one in 2018 and the other in 2022, just 41 days ago. I am already through with my physical therapy and am walking normal with no pain. The process before and after surgery is well planned, including physical therapy before surgery to strengthen the leg. Oi could not be happier with the results and have no problem recommending Dr. Schafer.

I’m not totally satisfied with this dr. I researched him online and his profile,all his certificates,and training and where he did training, only two reviews I see, was good, nothing bad on him, and the staff is extremely kind and friendly,explained everything good. But I have one question, why didn’t the dr give me the shot in my knee instead of the assistant?? That just didn’t seam right, the dr never came in to talk to me and he wouldn’t have I felt I hadn’t asked for him to come in,,, well I liked him and I just don’t understand at all why he didn’t give me the shot.. I don’t like and don’t agree with laying down to do the shot and I don’t remember them tellin go me they would do it that way, this all happened fast, he, the assistant had the knee froze and the needle in my knee before I could ask anything, so it was over then... I will Not get another one laying down. There was a lot of pressure which o know you have that, but the pain and swelling afterward was unbearable, and I… had to stay in bed for a whole week with it propped up high and ice pks, it was terrible I won’t do another one laying down ,no way..I am finally getting better after a week and 4 days, but why couldn’t the dr give the shot,,, hummmm why..???

Everyone is extremely kind and personable and make sure they take care of you qnd are happy and comfortable before you leave the office. Very fast amd professional.

I loved him... I get a smile on my face when I think about him as my Dr :) Totally made me feel secure with everything going on with me, spent necessary + time and was quite humorous!! Please if you dont want to drive to St.Louis for a good Dr, GO TO HIM!!!
