Dr. Brian David Snoddy, MD

Dr Snoddy is a EXCELLENT Doctor! He has ALWAYS been very good at taking the time to go over my medical issues and test with me!! I NEVER FEEL RUSHED and he ALWAYS answers my questions!! I have seen him in the hospital as well as the office. The staff there is excellent as well. Everyone has bent over backwards to be there for me! I feel so blessed to have him as my doctor. I travel a hour and a half to see him and will continue to do that. Everyone from the receptionist, nurses, nurse practitioner, the ones that administer the test, checkout, as well as billing are outstanding!!! I would recommend him to anyone looking for a doctor to contact them!! I wish I could give more that 5 stars because I would definitely give a 10+.

Brian is one of the best inBirmingham. Very well spoken an right to the point when it comes to his patients. # 1 in my book.

I found Dr. Snoddy to be a very kind and caring doctor. He has always treated me with respect. My last visit was a follow-up with his CRNP and I was having some distress, so my wife asked if Dr. Snoddy could see me instead. Dr. Snoddy did see me, and I ended up being hospitalized for the same thing I went to the ER for a couple of weeks previously and was sent home. I ended up staying four days in the hospital. So I am very grateful to Dr. Snoddy for his diligence on my behalf.

He is the most caring and wonderful doctor, several people in my family goes to see him and we all love him.

Dr Snoody is a very friendly, knowledgeable Dr. He takes his time and always answer every question I have. I never feel rushed. I trust him with my health. Dr Snoody and his staff Rocks!

Like a factory! They take tons of test and he barely communicates to the patient..God like complex...no follow up call etc......

Dr Snoody is the best doctor by far he listened instead of rushing unlike some doctors. I recommend Dr Snoody to everyone who need a cardiologist :)

Doctor Snoddy answered all our questions. He made sure we understood all his instructions. We could not be happier with his treatment.

Dr. Snoddy does not seem to take a personal interest in me, as his patient. When I have asked him what anesthesia I might be able to use in another kind of surgery that would not interact with all my heart meds, he might say something like, "How would I know? I'm not a [gastrointerologist] [dentist], etc. Ask them!" I have a complex heart history that deserves attention. Most often, if I really need help, I call on a heart specialist in Santa Monica, across the country, for advice. I see this specialist once a year. Dr. Snoddy rarely says anything about my heart, whereas the heart specialist in Santa Monica tells me in detail about my heart, its ejection fraction, whether my heart has enlarged significantly or not, etc. Dr. Snoddy does not possess even the basic knowledge of nutrition. He mentioned that niacin COULD help lower cholesterol, but that a fair-skinned person like me would blush/flush. He did not seem at all aware that niacin comes in many non-flushing forms and… that there are niacin-rich foods. He laughed about a patient who had come in talking about using a red rice as a cholesterol reducer. This red rice is, in fact, a kind of statin and those who use it must follow FDA standards in the amount ingested. Why do I know these things, and this so-called "specialist" does not? I do not feel he reads his current medical journals or is up-to-date on current treatments. He is also rigid. Once his mind is set, he does not change it, regardless of the need for change. I find his nurses much more helpful and my time with one of them much more productive than I do with Dr. Snoddy. I am going to find another cardiologist as soon as I can. I have realized that most likely when I die, I will die under the hands of Dr. Snoddy. That is a most disturbing thought. He would most likely just wash his hands and walk away, without the least bit of caring. He talks so quickly during an "interview" that he has now started to stutter--I don't know if this is the reason, but he does try to speak very rapidly and is definitely annoyed by questions. I started writing my questions down and showing them to the nurse who would then take them in to Dr. Snoddy before he comes in to see me. Dr. Snoddy took two weeks or more before returning a call to the physician who removed my gallbladder to tell him whether or not it would be okay for me to have flecainide during the surgery. The only way the physician and I got him on the line was for me to call the office and ask for Dr. Snoddy in the name of the physician and then hand the phone to the physician when Dr. Snoddy came on the line. Gallbladder surgery was very dangerous for me since my pacer-defibrillator had to be turned off for ten or fifteen minutes, and my physician wanted to make sure all issues were resolved. I don't believe Dr. Snoddy would ever have called on his own. Perhaps, in an emergency, Dr. Snoddy would be effective. I do not know. I know that, as a regular cardiologist to follow my progress, he is not, or I have very little confidence in him. When I have had to miss an appointment, it has been months and months before I could be rescheduled. The Medtronic staff in the office are always very efficient and kind, as well as the nursing staff, as mentioned earlier.
