Dr. Brian Wolf knows that pain not only affects people physically but takes a toll on them mentally as well. I am grateful for the opportunity to help people through challenging moments in life.”In July 2022, Dr. Wolf joined National Spine and Pain Centers after completing his pain management fellowship and anesthesiology residency at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. He earned his medical degree and finished an internal medicine internship at Marshall University in Huntington, WV. He earned a bachelor of science degree, graduating magna cum laude, from West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, WV.Serving in the United States Air Force for four years, his roles included being a flight surgeon and an Advanced Cardiac Life Support instructor for military providers.The field of pain medicine has seen explosive growth recently not only the in study of pain but treatment as well. Dr. Wolf is excited about several new treatments like Vertiflex, peripheral stimulation and Intracept that he believes will have a big impact on patients.Medications can be an important part of a patient’s individualized treatment plan but this practice but be strictly monitored. “Anytime medication is started (the patient and I) sit down and have a discussion about those medications and the effectiveness versus the side effects,” he said.Dr. Wolf aims to provide several different evidence-based options to patients and give his best advice. “Once the patient has come up with their desired treatment path, we work together to achieve those desired results.”When he is not treating patients, Dr. Wolf loves visiting new places, camping and watching his daughters play sports. His girls like to take him on as many roller coasters as they can when visiting a theme park.
