Dr. Briana Lynn Mcfawn, MD

I got a call last week to schedule my yearly physical and to get prescription refills. I scheduled the apt and gave them the prescriptions to be refilled and where I needed them refilled, due to my traveling for work. The next day I received another call to verify where I needed them to be refilled and my address. Gave them the info AGAIN. I go to the pharmacy the next day to pick up my prescriptions and they had nothing. So the pharmacy sent in a request to the DR. to have them refilled. I go back to pharmacy on Friday after work....nothing again. The Dr. office was closed and I could not contact anyone at there. Over the weekend I run out of my blood pressure medicine, so I call the office first thing on Monday, they explained to me that they didnt know where to send the prescription. This is after I told them 2x an the pharmacy had sent in a request, all the previous week. They explained to me that the Dr. will get them sent right in. I leave work early on Monday to get… my prescriptions, because it had been 2 days without BP medicine. When i show up at the pharmacy @ 2:00 pm....nothing. I call again and every subsequent hour until 5:00 pm, while I wait in the pharmacy parking lot. I keep getting the same answer. They are waiting for her authorization. The last time I talked to the pharmacist he gives me a 3 day emergency supply and suggests that I take my blood pressure before I leave. I did and my BP was 188 / 117. Needless to say, dangerously high. I have to go to Urgent Care, where they finally fill my prescription for me and got my blood pressure back down before I left. So now, it is Tuesday, a full week after all this has started. I call the Dr. office again first thing Tuesday to ask about the other prescriptions and get the same answer, waiting for her to authorize them. As of now I still don't have the prescriptions. I would not recommend this place to anyone, I haven't seen Dr. McFawn, who is my primary physician in almost 4 years!! I have only seen her nurse practitioners. I am currently looking for another physician and will not be going back here.

I haven't had any other complaints about Dr. McFawn until recently. Made an appointment after having severe IBS symptoms. Worried that these recent symptoms along with some others that had been arising that there may be something underlying going on. After I asked to be referred to an allergist to find out if I had any food sensitivities, she declined and instead told me to "eat a Lean Cuisine" for lunch and "maybe try replacing your breakfast with a Slim Fast". For a person who's already very active and eats extremely clean (vegetables, meat, and fruit only), having your doctor tell you to drink a can of fake sugar and chemicals for breakfast and then to follow it up with over 1,000 mg of sodium for lunch didn't sit well with me. I'll be calling for my records and finding another PCP, unfortunately.

My family and I have always received very good treatment from Dr. McFawn.

Would not take my dog to see this woman. Horrendous "doctor." Nasty. Terrible bedside manner. Spent all of 2 minutes with me. I'm on disability and showed NO compassion whatsoever. I beg anyone reading this review: PLEASE, do not choose this "doctor" to be your PCP. You will regret it. Horrible experience. Because she would not do anything for my condition, I had to go to the ER after leaving her office. She would be better off working in a factory or in fast food.

I would and have referred others to her.
