Dr. Brigitte Curtis, MD

Dr. Curtis seems to be knowledgeable about medication options. She did return emergency calls regarding my daughter promptly. These are the things she did well. However, she seemed to come across very judgemental to me and seemed to lack empathy. This overshadowed the positives

Dr. Curtis is great & so is her office staff. Those girls always go above & beyond for patients. They work in a difficult office setting; as someone with mental health issues I understand that we can be high maintenance. I have seen those girls get yelled at & cussed out by patients who feel they’re entitled. Considering all they have to deal with, I think they do an amazing job.

Dr. Curtis goes far above and beyond what the great majority of psychiatrists do to help patients. She IS the best psychiatrist in Lubbock, and one of the best in Texas.

I had my first office visit today. Like the other reviewers, I had to wait for some time, one hour, but I know that most specialists are late for various reasons around scheduling. The most important part, however, was not the waiting (and by the way, the office staff was courteous and helpful at all times) but the level of medical care. Dr. Curtis is a competent and empathetic doctor, and I felt comfortable with her decisions and assessment.

Never returns phone calls, takes forever to get refills, hard to get appointments, closes office too often, cancels appoints often.

Do NOT make an appt with this doctor. I waited in the reception area for 45 minutes When I asked how much longer it would be the receptionist said the Dr. always makes her patients wait a long time before she brings them back to her office. VERY Poor Service. Do yourself a favor and go see someone ELSE!
