Brij M Dewan, MD

Dewan is the worst GI I’ve ever had. He’s outdated and SUPER narcissistic. His office monopolized battle Creek and Kalamazoo. There are no other GI places for Bronson so he sees WAY too many people. Just makes money off of you. Basically he’s a professional at writing prescriptions/biologics. If they don’t work it’s on to the next one that is ridiculously expensive & most likely wont work. In the mean time he pretends IBD isn’t painful and ignores pain management completely. This guys sucks. Go anywhere else. Seriously. Anywhere else.

Dr. Dewan was great. He explained the procedure, why it was necessary and answered all my questions. My procedure was performed on time and the nursing staff at Ascension at Woodbridge were AMAZING!

While I find Dr. Dewan and his P.A. Ryan to be very caring professionals, their M.A. Michelle seems to have a problem returning phone calls. the first times I needed to speak with her It took two to three days to return my call. This time it has been nearly two weeks since my first call to her with a subsequent call the following week. Neither has received a response. I called again today and will now wait to see if I hear from her. I don't know if other patients receive this same treatment but from my perspective she is doing nothing to make me want to continue being seen at this office. If I don't hear from her today, I will be searching for a new doctor which I don't want to do. However my health is more important to me than continuing to deal with unprofessional office staff.

I am a 23 y/o male and I have been dealing with IBD since I was 14. I was prescribed Remicade by my GI in Holland, MI and happily enjoying a brief state of remission. Upon moving to Kalamazoo I decided to start seeing Dr. Dewan based on his spectacular reputation. He seemed very knowledgable at first, but it was apparent to me that he really did not care what I thought about the process. Any questions that I had were an annoyance and a waste of his time. He frequently patronized me and made me feel as though I was foolish for asking questions about my own body. After he performed a colonoscopy on me, he came into my room. While I was still under the influence of the anesthetic, he informed me that because he saw no inflammation or scarring that he believed I was COMPLETELY HEALTHY. So after years of having a disease that acts as a part of who you are as a person, he thought it was appropriate to tell me that I was totally fine, while I was impaired. Great bed side manner. Some time… later, I now am experiencing a flare up and have no G.I. to help me. Thanks Dr. Dewan!

Dr. Dewan was very nice and researched the particulars of my specific disease and genetic background and asked a lot of questions as well of me. He was very personable and thorough and the procedure was well explained and I was very pleased with the outcome. He even called another physician that treated me right when I was there so he could get all the information he needed. Very nice, smart, and capable physician.

Very nice Doctor and Nurses, love them all!

Dr. Dewan is very knowledgable and professional. An outstanding physician.
