Dr. Van Gordon calls this a key motive for building a state-of-the-art practice committed to enriching his patients' lives, and for his avid participation in organizations such as the Northwest Medical Teams, which provide free dental care to communities. His associate fellowship at the World Clinical Laser Institute, and his extensive research into non-invasive periodontal and cosmetic dentistry, further demonstrate his dedication to “changing the face of dentistry” by combining empathy and compassion with advanced technology.
"My goal is to give people a new way to look at dentistry," says Dr. Van Gordon. "I want to undo the negative connotations of visiting a dentist, and create a positive experience for patients ... to give them the same counsel and service I give my own family."
Dr. …Van Gordon's achievements in pursuit of that goal have been recognized by his peers since he graduated with clinical honors from Oregon Health Sciences University in 2001, and joined the American Dental Association that same year. He also belongs to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the Academy of General Dentistry. (In 2004, the Consumer's Research Council of America named him one of America's Top Dentists.)
