I was referred to Dr. Gurland by my gastroentrologist because she offers the most advanced procedure for removing painful and bleeding hemorrhoids. I've suffered with these for years and put off having them removed because of the reports of pain from the available procedures. I had read some negative reports about Dr. Gurland and, frankly, have no idea why people would write anything negative about her. She's one of the nicest and most competant physicians I've ever met. Dr. Gurland spent a lot of time with me during our first visit and she recently performed a procedure to end my hemorrhoid suffering. The procedure went perfectly and I have NO post-operative pain. Just a terrific experience. and I have no reservations recommending Dr. Gurland to anyone who needs a superb colorectal surgeon. I also want to give a special thanks to Dr. Gurland's nurse practicioner, Tracy. She's a gem. She's knowledgeable and responds to any phone or electronic message within minutes.

I highly recommend Dr. Gurland. She is absolutely the best and is an expert in her field and in the use of robotics. I feel like she gave me my life back. I can only describe Dr. Gurland, her whole team and everyone else I encountered at Stanford in superlatives.

I saw Dr Guland in 2017. I spent 45 min flling out applications, and she came in the room and just said : "sorry there is nothing i can do to help you." I dont have cancer, but I have had rectal pains and wanted to have it checked out. then she sent me a bill for $700. for doing absolutely nothing. Not even a rferral, if she thought someone else was better qualified to check me out. stay away from this useless doctor! at lest she shoud not have charged me for not being able to help me.

Just a great doctor.. She is such a understanding person but will not beat around the bush on what needs to be done and what she thinks will not work.

I've been with Dr. Gurland for 3 years now and while the problem I see her for makes me scream and cry to God WHY???. Dr. Gurland has held my hand the whole way, I've seen her tears as she has tried o help me and come across these road blocks with me, her bed side manner is one thing I would always say is superb. I feel like she is in this with me, even though the physical pain is mine alone.

She was unprofessional and treats her patients with no respect. I would never recommend her to anyone. Not only did she not help me with my problem, she clearly showed that she has no compassion to go along with her lack of skills.
