Dr. Bruce Gary Bonn, MD

I have been Dr. Bonn's patient for 2 years now. I moved here from out of state and was hoping to find a doctor that I liked as much in my previous town. Well! He exceeds all my expectations! Kind, caring, exceptionally well trained, and funny as well. I recommend him highly!

I do my research and saw the rave reviews and that this doctor did his residency at Harvard. Here is a rundown of my experience: *Did not perform a Pap, told me to look up new guidelines for paps every 5 years. However, documented that he gave me a pap. *Laughed when I said I felt something wrong in my breast and said I was concerned it was a cyst that may have burst (I felt a similar sensation with ovarian cysts I'd previously had). He felt for tumors, etc. but when I asked about checking with ultrasound he said he could do that to make more money but I don't need it. * My previous doctor monitored the size of my Dermoid cysts once a year through ultrasound (if I remember correctly about the device used) but this doctor responded the same way as mentioned above w/possible breast issue). Said he can do it but it is not necessary. * He spoke extremely fast, made a ton of jokes and didn't seem to take anything that seriously. The doctor notes did NOT reflect exam room conversations… because some of the topics noted/suggestions given were never mentioned. I've had significantly better medical care and will not go back. Now I have to deal with my insurance company who will charge me for another annual with a better doctor. UGH. I am not sure why anyone would trust this doctor.

Dr. Bonn has been my GYN for over 20 years. He is a superb physician and I happily pay out-of-pocket for his services. He is worth every penny and I cannot emphasize enough his knowledge, warmth, humor and empathy. He takes time to answer questions and does so in such a way that you are never embarassed. I would never hesitate to recommend him to anyone at any time!!

LUV him!! I moved to this area a little over a year ago and have seen two GYN's during that time. The first one in Alexandria - a woman no less - was HORRIBLE - literally a 'drive-by' exam where she barely took the time to get to know anything about my medical or gynecologic history (incl. family history of ovarian cancer). Dr. Bonn took a great deal of time to get a good picture of me as a person and a new patient, not just another manila file. He's the only gyn who CLEARLY explained 'the big M' to me, along with its impact on my fertility, my weight, etc. He also personally called for a follow up discussion, during which time he allowed me to ask questions and get a clear understanding of my medical information. I really trust his advice, which is saying a lot for me because I'm VERY skeptical about most dr's today. He's VERY quick-witted and direct, which may be a little disarming to some but I LIKE it!! I HIGHLY recommend him to anyone seeking a top notch GYN in this area.

I recently moved to the DC area and was in search of a new doctor. A close friend recommended Dr. Bonn and, for this, I am so grateful (I need to take her out for a drink or something!) Dr. Bonn and his team were receptive, funny, and very educational...they have wonderful bedside manners laced with humor, warmth, and knowledge. In short, I was very impressed and about as happy as one can be at a doctor's appointment. I found my new doctor, woohoo!

I have been with Dr. Bonn for over 20 years. I have recommended him to everyone I know and we are all in agreement: he is the best! He is knwoledgeable, caring, responsive, and very alert to a patient's needs and fears. I can't imagine there could be a better doctor!

Definitely the best doc I've ever had. Almost makes me wish I were having female problems or pregnant! Dr. Bonn - please teach your fellow docs bedside manners because you are in a class by yourself. Way to go!

I just wish he were still on my insurance plan, still practiced Ob, and wasn't so far away! He is just great. Really listens, works hard to respect your birth plan, even while perhaps telling you to forget the birth plan. Very down to earth, friendly, and just overall wonderful.
