Dr Frankel was not helpful in diagnosing or referring me to another specialist. His comment was, you're not anywhere near needing surgery, come back in a few years. There I was with chronic lower back pain, numb feet and sciata pain and all he could say is come back in a few years?

You are waisting your time seeing this doctor. He has the WORST bedside manner I have ever experienced from a doctor, and won't even listen to a word you have to say. Not someone I would want operating on my head. Stay away!!

My surgery was in 2010 and I am still suffering from the hands of Dr. Frankel. Dr. Frankel convinced me that after surgery I would have a back of a 16 year old, and he was very experienced in repairing scoliosis back problems. During my follow up visits I was still in pain and I could not stand up staright. He said give it two years and you will see the difference. He said two years because after two years there is nothing he can do and you cannot sue Dr Frankel for his mistakes. He actually ended up telling me he did not put enough curve in my back. So he admitted to what he had done wrong. Nine years later I am still in pain cannot stand up straight wearing a back brace and using a,walker.Over the years I went to other Dr`s and there is nothing that can be done with all the hard wear in your back. Obviously since Dr Frankel has a very low rating he has messed up other people to. I do not recommend Dr Frankel for Scoliosis surgery, For those that read this and are in pain my prayers… go out to you. But before you have surgery on your back do everything you can not to have surgery. I am in worst shape now before the surgery. I have lost everything because of Dr Frankel. I know if I had gone to another Dr. I would not be in shape I am in now. I have spoken to other's that had the same surgery and they are still living active lives. I wish I had never seen Dr. Frankel.

Dr. Frankel performed a spinal fusion on me. After about 10 months, the symptoms not only returned but were worse. I consulted Frankel and two other neurosurgeons. All concurred that a fusion screw had come loose, and this caused other significant problems. The two other surgeons I consulted had no hesitation in saying that this happened because the screw had been improperly placed. I had to have a second surgery to secure the hardware and correct the damage. I selected another surgeon.

Dr. Frankel is the most caring and thorough doctor I've ever experienced. I tell anyone I can to go to him if they have any spine problems.

Dr. Frankel has performed two procedures on me, one of which was included in a clinical trial. In both cases I could not be more pleased with the outcomes. He is a caring physicianand spends whatever time he needs to answer your question. I have never felt rushed. I would, and have, recommended Dr. Frankel.

The best the medical field has to offer!
